Come join us for a Virtual Dementia Experience on Friday 12th September, from 10:00am – 4:30pm at Canon Lewis Hall, Greenmount.

This is a lovely opportunity for people living with dementia, their carers, family, and friends to come together, share experiences, and enjoy a supportive and welcoming space.

✨ What’s on:

Virtual dementia experience

Armchair exercise with Tracing Steps (10am)

Meet Molly from Pets as Therapy (11am – 12pm)

The usual D-CaFF session (1pm – 3pm)

💜 Everyone is welcome — whether you’re living with dementia, caring for someone, or just interested in learning more.

Alzheimer’s is the most common type of dementia, accounting for around 6 in 10 cases in the UK.

It affects memory, reasoning and daily life over time — but dementia and Alzheimer’s aren’t the same thing. Dementia is the umbrella term, while Alzheimer’s is one type within it.

🧠 Common early signs include forgetfulness, confusion, mood changes and difficulty with familiar tasks.
👵 Over 900,000 people in the UK are living with dementia today, a number set to rise to 1.6 million by 2040.

Raising awareness is the first step to understanding and supporting those living with the condition 💚
