NHS Health Check. What You Need to Know.

The NHS Health Check is a free check-up for adults aged 40 to 74 who do not already have certain long-term conditions. It helps spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and dementia.

During the appointment, we check your blood pressure, cholesterol, weight and lifestyle factors. You will receive advice to help reduce your risk and stay well for longer.

If you are eligible, you will receive a message inviting you to book your NHS Health Check.

Please take up the offer. It is a simple step that can make a real difference to your future health.

From April 2026, repeat prescriptions will move to patient-led ordering.

This means you will request your own repeat medication directly from the practice, rather than your pharmacy ordering it for you.

You can order your repeats using:
• The NHS App
• Your NHS online account

This change helps:
• Reduce medication waste
• Improve safety by stopping stockpiling
• Give you more control over your medication

If you do not yet have the NHS App, now is a good time to set it up.

If you are unsure what this means for you, please contact the practice and our team will be happy to help.

Friends and Family Feedback – February 2026

Our February 2026 Friends and Family Test results show strong patient satisfaction with the care and service provided at Uplands.

84% of patients rated their experience as very good, with a further 11% saying it was good. This means 95% of patients shared positive feedback about their visit.

A small number of responses rated their experience as poor (2%) or very poor (3%). We review all feedback carefully and use it to identify where we can improve.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their experience. Your feedback helps us recognise what we are doing well and where we need to do better.
