Women in England who are aged 50 – 71 and registered with a GP are automatically invited for breast screening every 3 years. Your first screening will be between the age of 50 – 53.

If you are aged 71 and over, you’ll stop receiving screening invitations but you can still ask to have breast screening.

If you think you may have an increased risk of breast cancer due to family history, book an appointment at the surgery to discuss this with the GP.

Breast cancer is one of the most talked-about cancers. We’ve all heard of it. And most of us know someone who has been affected. It’s also the most common cancer in women. Around 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. So, the older we get, the risk of breast cancer increases.

The RSV vaccine helps protect against infection with RSV, a common virus that can make babies and older adults seriously ill.

It's offered on the NHS if you're pregnant, aged 75 to 79, or turned 80 after 1 September 2024.

You may be aware that the NHS has made Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) Injections available free of charge for the use in weight loss to a certain cohort of patients.

Bridge & Monkseaton Medical Practice is currently undergoing checks and training to enable us to deliver this service to our patients safely.

If you are eligible for this, you should have been contacted by the surgery. Please be patient while we undergo all the necessary training.

Planning for our Autumn Vaccine Campaign is well underway. If you are eligible for the Flu Vaccine and/or the Covid Vaccine you should have already received an invite to one of our clinics.

All 12 & 13 year olds should be offered the HPV vaccination at school. If you have missed this, you are still eligible for the vaccine until you turn 25.

We will be contacting all patients whose records show they are missing this vaccine, but if you think you are eligible, please contact the surgery.
