👉 IMPORTANT SERVICE UPDATE - PLEASE READ 👈

North Tyneside Council has been working together with partner organisations to develop a model to support the emotional wellbeing of children, young people and their families. Services from Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and North Tyneside Council have come together in North Tyneside to form The Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Collaborative (MHEW) for children and young people up to the age of 18.

The Collaborative meets daily (weekdays) to consider individual needs and work together to identify the most appropriate support. More information can be found here: 👉 https://www.northtyneside.gov.uk/public-health-and-wellbeing/mental-health-and-wellbeing/young-peoples-mental-health

We know families will have questions and concerns about this change and we asked for some drop-in sessions to enable you to find out more and have your questions answered. The first two in person took place in December 2025 and the third session (an online session) will take place:

Date: Thursday 29 January
Time: 12noon - 1pm
Where: Via Teams (a link will be circulated to all registered attendees)

If anyone has any queries, please do sign up to this event, drop your question/comment below or send us an email (info@ntpcf.co.uk).

Have you ever wondered why you feel constantly exhausted - even when you should be fine?

That might be the allostatic load talking.

It’s the long-term “wear and tear” on your body and mind caused by chronic stress - and for SEND parents, that stress never really stops.

The endless forms, appointments, advocacy battles, sleepless nights, sensory overloads, and constant vigilance all add up.

Over time, your nervous system stays stuck in survival mode.

You might notice headaches, fatigue, brain fog, irritability, low mood, anxiety, or physical pain - but it’s not just in your head. It’s biology.

The good news? You can start to recover.

Join Bridge the Gap for our webinar:

No kid needs “fixing”
They need the right environment to thrive.

At Empowerment Dojo, we help SEND children of all kinds personalities…

Never to label them.
Never to limit them.
But to give them structure, confidence and a place where they feel understood.

Through martial arts, we van help many children:

✔️ regulate big emotions in a safe, physical way
✔️ build confidence without pressure to “perform”
✔️ improve focus through routine and movement
✔️ develop respect and boundaries that actually make sense
✔️ feel part of something, instead of on the outside of it

This isn’t about being the loudest or the toughest.
It’s about helping children feel capable, calm and proud of themselves.
