💙 ONE FOR THE DADS/STEP DADS/MALE CARERS 💙

New to our radar, a charity dedicated to supporting male carers of children with complex needs, disabilities and/or life limiting conditions - Harry's Pals Charity.

They have a webinar opportunity next WEDNESDAY for any of our families who may be interested in signing up to learn more and to connect. 💙

At Harry’s Pals, we know that dads and male carers supporting children with complex needs, disabilities or life limiting illnesses are often carrying an enormous amount of stress and responsibility.

Men’s mental health matters, and we understand how important it is to have spaces where men feel comfortable talking, connecting and being supported by others who truly understand their experiences.

That’s why we’re inviting dads and male carers to join our upcoming webinar with guest speaker Paul Meadows from SENDS 4 Dad.

This relaxed online session will include:
✨ An introduction to SENDS 4 Dad and the support they offer
✨ Signposting to other supportive groups and services for men
✨ Open group discussion and shared experiences
✨ A safe and understanding space to connect with others

You do not have to navigate this journey alone.

North Tyneside Council are running this FREE 2-Hour workshop for anyone who cares for someone with Learning Disabilities, works in the care sector or perhaps just wants to learn more.

We are constantly advocating the importance of awareness and understanding. This is a great opportunity to do just that.

Our Learning Disabilities Workshop is a great place to start if you care for someone with learning disabilities, work in the care sector or you want to learn more.

The 2-hour workshop covers:

👉Learning disability spectrum
👉Key principle of care and support
👉Essential and practical skills for the role of a support worker and core responsibilities
👉Career paths and professional standards
👉Employment opportunities in North Tyneside in the learning disability sector

Our Wallsend Theatre group meets weekly on Mondays at Wallsend Memorial Hall, and creates ambitious theatre, film and storytelling projects to share their lived experience and challenge inequalities.

⭐INCLUSIVE CONNECTIONS - THIS WEEK'S SESSIONS ⭐

How on earth have we made it to the May half term ALREADY!? 🫣😵‍💫

Whether half term is a time for calmer days and quality moments or a time for additional mental load and stress. These are your weekly opportunities to grab some time with us, the connect MHST and your fellow parent carers.

This coming week sees our engagement team in 4 schools across our region, 3 of which will be delivered alongside the Connect Metal Health Support Team on understanding the importance of Co-Regulation of emotions with our children including tips and strategies to help.

🏫 Langley First School - TODAY! 9am start (Connect Session)
🏫 Kings Priory School - Wednesday, 9am start (Connect Session)
🏫 Benton House School - Friday, 9am start (Intro Session)
🏫 Moorbridge Reset (Linskill Site) - Friday 9am start (Connect Session)

These relaxed, informal sessions offer you as parent carers, the opportunity to talk all things SEND, to talk, offload and learn from us and from each other in a safe space.
If your child is registered or attending one of the above, pop along and join us if you can. The kettle will be on AND biccies will be flowing…

NO formal diagnosis is needed for you to attend our sessions and there is no such thing as a silly question… 🥰
