Getting outside for fresh air and time in nature is good for your mind, your body and your circadian rhythm. Even for just 10 mins. first thing in the morning is beneficial but getting outside at some point every day is great.

Sunlight has several benefits for the skin and overall health. One of the things all the blue zone areas (parts of the world with the healthiest aging populations) have in common is ☀️

☀️Sunlight helps the skin produce vitamin D (which is a hormone not a vitamin!) and is essential for bone health, immune function, and mood regulation.

☀️ Vitamin D from sunlight supports immune function, helping the body fight infections

☀️Sun exposure can boost serotonin levels, reducing stress and symptoms of depression.

☀️Controlled sun exposure can help with certain skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, and acne.

☀️Exposure to natural light especially early in the day, before screen time, helps regulate the circadian rhythm, improving sleep quality.

☀️Sunlight triggers the release of nitric oxide, which can help reduce blood pressure.

‼️ However, excessive sun exposure can lead to skin damage, premature aging, and an increased risk of skin cancer, so moderation and sun protection are essential

Missing from Beaumont Park, close to the wagon ways and the underpass to Churchill playing fields. Our silly little cat hasn’t come home for a couple of days. With it having rained so much, and our house having building work going on, he might have crept into a shed or something to take shelter. If you see him around, please let me know. He’s all black, small but very vocal! No collar but microchipped

Can’t recommend the sauna enough: Infrared saunas offer loads of potential benefits:

1. Detoxification: Infrared heat promotes sweating, which helps the body flush out toxins and heavy metals, supporting detoxification.
2. Relaxation: The soothing warmth of the sauna helps relax muscles, reduce stress, and promote a sense of calm and well-being.
3. Pain Relief: Infrared heat can ease muscle tension, joint pain, and minor aches by increasing blood flow and promoting muscle relaxation.
4. Improved Circulation: The heat from infrared saunas dilates blood vessels, leading to improved circulation and potential cardiovascular benefits.
5. Skin Health: Sweating opens up pores, unclogging them and improving skin complexion. This can be helpful for acne, eczema, and general skin health.
6. Weight Management: While not a direct weight loss tool, saunas can help burn calories and contribute to a weight management routine.
7. Cardiovascular Support: Some studies suggest that regular sauna use may lower blood pressure, enhance heart health, and improve vascular function.
8. Boosted Immunity: Saunas may stimulate the production of white blood cells, supporting the immune system’s ability to fight off illnesses.
9. Pain Management: Infrared therapy has been used to alleviate chronic pain conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, and muscle soreness.
10. Mental Well-being: Sauna sessions can promote relaxation, reduce stress, and contribute to an improved mood and mental clarity.

Remember, while infrared saunas have potential benefits, individual results can vary. It’s important to stay hydrated, follow recommended usage guidelines, and consult a healthcare professional if you have any underlying health concerns before using an infrared sauna.

A little snapshot of week 1 house renovations. It’s really exciting seeing Lauren’s design being brought to life 🏡➡️💪 Renovations aren’t just for houses… they’re for people too.

Just like transforming your health and fitness, a house renovation starts with a clear vision of the end goal. You identify the changes you know are needed, bring in the right experts when you can’t do it all yourself, and—most importantly—find ways to enjoy the process along the way.

Whether it’s building stronger walls or building a stronger body, progress comes from patience, consistency, and trust in the process with the right people around you.

How to meal prep whilst renovating your house 101: eating well is a huge part of my life. I know that when I eat more processed food I feel rubbish, I can’t think properly, my skin gets spotty, and my clothes don’t fit as well. So it’s going to be really important to me that we both continue to eat whole foods, high in protein and good sources of fat and carbs even when we don’t have a kitchen (or much of a house really!) My current meal prep area-also my living room, pantry, general store cupboard etc

In a previous life it’s been our gym and before that the kids’ playroom

Tonight’s tea:
Air fryer tofu for me, fish for Tim 🫣
Made extra veg last night so just need to reheat that
I do still have access to the hob so I’m going to add red lentil pasta to Tim’s tea while I can! It’s taking a bit of thought and I can’t find anything but here we go
