End of a busy clinic and the OCT is being powered down for the night 👋

Our optometrist Ro has been putting it through its paces today — and it’s one of the bits of kit we wouldn’t be without.

OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) is an advanced scan that takes incredibly detailed cross-section images of the back of your eye. It lets us see the different layers of the retina in a way that simply isn’t possible with a standard photo.

Why does that matter? Because it helps us pick up early signs of conditions like glaucoma and macular changes — often before you notice any symptoms at all. Early detection really does make a difference.

The scan itself is quick, comfortable and non-contact. You just pop your chin on the rest, look at a target light and that’s it — clever technology doing its thing in seconds.

All packed away and ready to go again tomorrow 👓
