For the past 3½ years, we’ve been proud to support the beautiful Cullercoats Watch House and not just as a venue, but as a true community space filled with heart, history, and charm, overlooking the ever-changing Cullercoats Bay.

Whether you’re joining us to catch the sunrise, move with your baby, or flow into the evening light, there’s something truly special about practicing here, surrounded by the sounds of the sea and the warmth of community.

Halfway through my 1K-a-day challenge! 🏃‍♀️💛

Why am I doing it? Because I truly believe that doing a little each day goes a long way, whether that’s building fitness, nurturing your mindset, or navigating grief.

This challenge is raising money for Sands during week. The support they offer to grieving families is invaluable, whether you knew your baby on the inside or out, for weeks or months, your loss matters.

What’s even more humbling is that my two boys have also decided to join me. I hadn’t expected to inspire them to move but it makes this challenge all the more special. 💛

Little steps each day.
It’s a marathon, not a sprint. 💛

This evening, we remember all the babies gone too soon.

Join us in lighting a candle at 7pm at home, or come to the studio between 7.15–7.30pm to light one together.
If you can’t be there, I can light a candle for you. 🤍

I’ll also be holding space after classes this evening for anyone who simply wishes to sit, reflect, or just be present.

Inside a Shore Yoga Baby Class

Ever wondered what really happens in a baby yoga class at Shore Yoga?

It’s much more than stretching! It’s about connection, calm, and community. Maternal Mental health so important.

Each week we:
• Begin with gentle grounding for mums — a few deep breaths to arrive and release.
• Moving into settling and connection techniques for baby, supporting your little one’s development and relaxation through songs, sharing smiles, and enjoy playful movement together.
• Including time just for you with gentle but energising postnatal yoga to support recovery, rebuild strength, and reconnect with your body after birth.
• Take time to connect with your baby, your body, and other parents in a supportive space.
• And yes, there are always giggles, wriggles, feeds, and nappy changes, all totally welcome.

Our sessions are calm, nurturing, and real a genuine safe space to just be, however your morning’s gone.

Suitable from 6 weeks (post-check) to pre-crawling.
Join us at Shore Yoga Studio or Cullercoats Watch House where connection begins at the shore.

Postnatal Sessions for you:
Tuesdays 10am / 1pm

As part of Baby Loss Awareness Week, St Mary's Lighthouse is being illuminated pink and blue until 15 October 🩷💙

The lights provide a space to reflect, remember and support those who have been affected by pregnancy and baby loss.

I went down there tonight to take some photos to share with those of you who cannot make it down to the Lighthouse but would like to see the lights.

Apologies my photos aren’t great but when I arrived there was a couple there, arm in arm, in silence. I didn’t want to disturb their quiet moment so respectfully stood back.

Hi I’m Nicola :)

The photo below was taken the day before my son was born a poignant moment where one chapter was closing and a new one about to open. After being made redundant for the second time and also being pregnant my future was filled with unknowns.

I have practiced yoga for over 15 years and it wasn’t until I became pregnant that I realised I had become so disconnected from myself. I learned to breath again. When my son arrived into the world I had a renewed purpose, I knew I didn’t want to return to a career in the rat race.

I decided to take a journey down a new path, following a dream and qualified as a 200HR Hatha Yoga Teacher specialising in pre and postnatal yoga. Working with women through such a special and pivotal time in their life, supporting them on their journey into motherhood and beyond is a huge privilege. I LOVE my job!
