How is this month feeling?
I see these first weeks of March as a bridge between the winter and spring, the space where two worlds exist before transforming fully into full spring energy.
Perhaps you’ve felt that shift, more energy, more light and more desire to move? Maybe that all feels bit daunting, the idea that winters slumber is coming to a close?
It’s very normal to feel both of these things consecutively, especially if you’re someone who is prone to burn out, over reaching or tendency to over commit yourself!
There are so many beautiful teachings we can turn to that help to better understand ourselves, our inner wisdom and the nature of seasonal shifts.
In Vedic Tradition we look through the lens of Ayurveda, working to balance Kapha Dosha (Water & Earth) think damp, dense, slow. So in order to balance, we invite in more Akasha & Agni (Air/Space & Fire) through our diets, movement and daily routines.
In Taoist Tradition we can look to the Five Elements, Spring time is governed by the Wood Element, think green shoots of bluebells rising through the soil in the woods, fresh green shoots of buds on trees (the rising, opening and forward moving energy of the spring season)
Working with Akasha in Vedic tradition directly connects to the climate of Wood in Taoist tradition which is wind!
The teaching of wind is movement and adaptability.
“The Tree should be strong enough to stand tall and seek the light, but soft enough to sway and bend so that it does not break in the wind.”
So bringing this back to how we may be feeling as we shift, there is a literal need for adaptability, in order to move forward we need to become lighter, more spacious and free of winters sleepiness. Like the tree we need to adapt to our conditions and that includes softening.
Maybe allow yourself to witness the growth of the seeds that you have planted, be that resolutions, intentions or dreams.
But then also continue to nurture them, adapt as is needed, so that they can bloom to their full potential with longevity.
Enjoy lingering a little longer admiring the journey of growth as there is no rush to bloom 🌱
