That’s why it can feel calm, gentle, and surprisingly empowering.

When Christmas Feels Too Big 🎄

Sometimes Christmas can feel very busy inside your head.
That’s okay.

Before Christmas, choose a calm place together.
A bedroom, a sofa, or a quiet corner.

If everything feels too much, you can:
• take 3 slow breaths
• cuddle your favourite toy
• sit quietly until your body feels calmer

You can always come back when you’re ready.

Christmas doesn’t have to be perfect.
It just needs to feel safe 💫

Christmas closing… but looking ahead to January 🌿

Willow Hypnotherapy will be closing for Christmas at the end of this week.

January is often when people get in touch and say things like:
“Everything’s meant to feel calmer now… but it doesn’t.”
Or, “I thought I’d cope better once Christmas was over.”

If anxiety, stress, low mood, overwhelm, or sleep issues have been quietly building you don’t have to wait until it feels unmanageable.

I offer hypnotherapy in Chestfield (near Whitstable) and online, working with adults, children and teenagers. Sessions are calm, supportive and client-led, using hypnotherapy alongside practical tools to help your mind and nervous system slow down.

Sometimes the hardest part of feeling overwhelmed isn’t the worry itself…
it’s not knowing why your body is reacting the way it is.

Racing heart. Tight chest. Foggy head.
Nothing “wrong” on the outside, but everything feels loud on the inside.

A big part of the work I do in hypnotherapy is helping people understand their own reactions not to analyse them endlessly, but to gently calm the nervous system and feel more in control again.

No fixing.
No forcing positivity.
Just helping your mind and body feel a bit safer, one step at a time.

Thank you so much to everyone who has booked in, the week commencing 15th December is now fully booked 🤍

I am now taking January bookings, whether you’re looking for:
🌿 A full hypnotherapy session (for anxiety, fears, phobias, weight management, confidence and more), or
🌿 A shorter relaxation-only session no therapy, just time to properly switch off and reset

January can feel heavy for a lot of people. If you’re already thinking “I don’t want to start the year feeling like this again”, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Sometimes children feel things so deeply that they don’t have the words for it yet and that can be overwhelming for them and for us as parents.

As a mum of four children, and with both personal and professional experience supporting children on the spectrum, I understand just how unique every child’s world can be. No two children experience emotions in the same way, and that’s okay.

In my hypnotherapy sessions, I use gentle, child-friendly techniques stories, imagination, grounding tools to help children understand what’s going on inside their bodies and minds in a way that feels safe, calm and pressure-free.

If your mind has been running at 100mph lately, try this tiny reset:

Put your hand on your chest and take one slow breath…
In through your nose for 4… hold for 2… and out for 6.

It sounds simple, but this breathing pattern quietly tells your brain:
“You’re safe. You can soften now.”

Your mind doesn’t need huge changes to feel better it just needs small, steady moments where you come back to yourself.

🌿 What Could Really Be Behind a Fear or Phobia?

Sometimes a fear or phobia isn’t about the thing itself… it’s about the feeling underneath it.

For some people, a fear develops after one overwhelming moment.
For others, it’s something that slowly builds over time, often without them even realising.

And quite often, it’s the body trying to protect us just a little too enthusiastically.

Fear of flying, dogs, sickness, driving, spiders… whatever it is, there’s usually a deeper reason your mind reacts the way it does. It might be:

✨ A past experience your body never fully processed
✨ An old worry that’s still sitting in the background
✨ Feeling out of control in certain situations
✨ Sensory overwhelm
✨ Or simply a brain that learned “this feels unsafe” even when the logical part of you knows it isn’t

None of this means you’re “dramatic” or “irrational.”
It means you’re human.

In hypnotherapy, I work gently with the mind and body to understand where these reactions come from and help you build new, calmer responses instead. You don’t have to push yourself or feel embarrassed. We go at your pace, with kindness and curiosity.
