Babies In Waiting Benfleet, Wickford & Rayleigh 😊 Hi, I’m Helen and a mum of one. I am a qualified teacher and Hypnobirthing practitioner. I can help you to have a positive birth experience.

I offer private or group Hypnobirthing sessions in my cabin, as well as group pregnancy relaxation.😊 Hypnobirthing teaches couples tools and techniques to have a calm, relaxed birth. Babies in Waiting like to nurture the relationship with the couples/mothers that attend our courses. We extend our support for as long as it is wanted. Having a baby is a life changing experience, our aim is to empower parents and support holistically.

Why I chose hypnobirthing

I discovered hypnobirthing when I was preparing for the arrival of my first baby after a recommendation from a friend. I wanted to have a calm and natural birth and wanted to learn how I could achieve a non medicalised and intervention free experience. After the first session of the Babies In Waiting course I knew I had made the right choice to take my pregnancy journey down the hypnobirthing route, everything just seemed to make sense! I had a new found absolute trust in my body and its ability to birth. Learning techniques to eliminate my anxieties (created by other people/society) was invaluable. I also discovered more about birth locations and made the decision to plan for a home birth and have the support of a doula for my labour.

In July 2016 I had an amazing water birth in my own home and welcomed my daughter Imogen into the world calmly. I had spent weeks preparing and picturing my ideal birth, practicing hypnobirthing techniques, and going to pregnancy relaxation sessions, so to achieve it made me feel so triumphant and empowered.

It made me realize that bringing a baby into the world is something to be truly proud of, and I wanted to be able to help other expectant mothers prepare for positive, natural, confident and informed birthing experiences. The kind of experience that they cannot wait to share, that they look back on fondly, and anticipate being able to do again.

Shortly after having Imogen, I heard that Jo and Emily, the founder of Babies in Waiting were looking to franchise…and that’s when Babies In Waiting Wickford & Rayleigh was formed! I trained as a hypnobirthing and pregnancy relaxation practitioner and launched my classes within a few months of Imogen’s birth. I’ve since gone on to have another wonderful home birth with my second daugthter, Kirsten in August 2018 and I have also trained to teach refresher courses so that couple returning to Babies In Waiting with their subsequent pregnancies can brush up on their techniques with me. It has been amazing supporting local women on their pregnancy journeys 💜
