UX Healthcare was born in 2016. Healthcare was never the obvious path.
Like many designers and technologists, my journey started with curiosity — about people, systems, and how things could work better. UX Healthcare Europe didn’t begin as a conference or a community. It started with conversations. Frustrations. Personal illness. Questions. A realisation that healthcare is one of the most complex environments you can design for — and one of the most important. I've had first hand experience with the complexities.
Over the years, I met AMAZING designers, clinicians, researchers, developers, and leaders who all shared the same challenge:
We want to make healthcare better — but we don’t always know where to start.
UX Healthcare was created to make that starting point clearer.
If you’re already working in healthcare UX, you know how difficult it can be — regulation, legacy systems, ethical responsibility, human emotion, and real-world consequences. If you want to venture into UX healthcare but don’t know how, you’re not alone. Connect with us www.uxhealthcare.co.
You don’t need to have all the answers.
You don’t need to come from a clinical background.
You just need curiosity, humility, and a willingness to learn.
UX Healthcare exists to:
• Share real-world healthcare design stories
• Learn from people inside the system
• Create space for honest conversations
• Build a global community that supports one another
Whether you’re deep in healthcare already, or standing on the edge wondering if this space is for you — there is a place for you here.
If you’re curious, come listen. If you’re experienced, come share. If you’re unsure, come learn.
That’s how UX Healthcare began — and that’s how it continues to grow.
