At St Luke's Chapel Nursery 'The Forest' and 'The Canopy' rooms take part in weekly yoga sessions. These help promote their physical strength, as the children learn to use their muscles in new ways. Different poses allow children to become aware of their body and the way it functions.

Our yoga sessions also support children to develop their concentration skills, and allow them to focus on the movement and technique they are practicing.

This week 'The Forest' and 'The Canopy' have been exploring the theme of Christmas and been talking about sending cards and decorating their homes. The children have been creating a range of crafts and decorations for the Christmas tree.

They have also been making a post box, and discussing how they can write letters to Santa, but also their friends and family, and the postman and postwomen will deliver their letters.

The children have also been making their own playdough this week, learning about measuring out the ingredients, and taking turns with their peers to mix the mixture.

This week 'The Nest' have been further exploring their Dear Zoo core story, and exploring what animals eat, and the environments that they live in.

The children have also begun exploring Christmas, and playing with the trains which will take them to a winter wonderland, where they see some polar bears. We've also been completing some Christmas crafts.

It's only Wednesday, and 'The Forest' and 'The Canopy' Room's have been busy with their Christmas preparations. This week we have been talking about a Winter Wonderland, and getting our Christmas Trees. The children have made a start making some Christmas tree decorations ready for our tree, and we have painted a post box in preparation for some letters to Santa.
