From garage site to community gem...

Frank street community garden in Widnes has completely transformed over the past year - from an unused space to a buzzing hub full of homegrown produce, family events and even a pumpkin patch! 🎃

We’ve been proud to support the project with materials and hands-on help but the real magic has come from the incredible volunteers who have poured their time and energy into making it what it is today. 🌱👏

Come along to our Grange Estate Walkabout next week!

We’ll be out and about around Grange Estate checking for things like fly-tipping, repairs and upkeep of communal areas - and we’d love you to join us.

It’s a great chance to chat to your Neighbourhood Officer and other Halton Housing colleagues about anything affecting your home or street. Our partners from the police and council often come along too.

Streets we’ll be covering include: Almond Avenue, Birch Road, Cherry Tree Avenue, Laburnum Grove, Lilac Crescent, Link Way, Willow Close and more.

Members of our Homes team recently carried out essential flagging work at Halton Haven Hospice, our nominated charity for the year, installing a brand-new pathway from the kitchen to the bin store area. This improvement has made a real difference to the day-to-day operations, enhancing safety and accessibility for staff managing waste.

A huge thank you to everyone in the Homes team who helped make this happen. 👏

🍪👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Families Get Cooking This Summer

Over the summer holidays, 45 families joined us for six fun-filled cookery sessions delivered by Fresh Beginnings. From sausage rolls to cookies, families learned to cook from scratch, took home ingredients to recreate the recipes, and enjoyed a valuable bonding experience.

Our summer cookery sessions brought together 45 families for fun, learning, and connection through hands-on cooking and community support.
