🚔 Illegal e‑bikes seized in Hough Green 🚲

Thanks to a joint operation between our Neighbourhoods Team and Widnes Police, two high‑powered electric bikes causing disruption in the Hough Green area have been recovered and will now be crushed.

Residents have shared growing concerns about dangerous riding on local roads and pavements, so this is a great result for community safety.

❄️ How Our Winter Warmth Scheme Helped This Winter ❄️

This year, our teams took Winter Warmth support straight to customers’ doors. Instead of holding events, we handed out warmth packs during day‑to‑day visits, making it easier and more private for people to get help.

From October to February, we supported 26 customers, with fuel vouchers, Energy Project Plus referrals, and Welfare Benefits appointments. Each pack included winter essentials like socks, gloves, a hot water bottle, hand warmers, a blanket and more.

Many customers told us they appreciated the simple, face‑to‑face support at home. It helped us spot issues early and get people the right help quickly.

Yesterday we said a big thank you to the customers who have been part of our Customer Forum and Scrutiny Panel. For many years, these volunteers have helped us improve our services and make sure customers’ voices are heard. 🙌💙

We’re now getting ready for our new Customer Committee, starting 1st April. This new group includes both customers and Board Members, giving an even stronger voice in shaping the services you receive.

Thank you to everyone who has been involved. Your time, ideas and support have made a real difference for other customers and our communities. 👏

To Mark International Women's Day yesterday, we're proud to officially launch our Period Positive initiative - a new community partnership helping to tackle period poverty and support dignity for anyone who needs it ♥️

Working with Councillor Laura Bevan, Fortuna Female Society and Halton & St Helens Voluntary Community Action, we’re providing free, discreet Period Positive packs filled with essential hygiene products, a small treat and an uplifting note 🫶

🛍️Packs are available at Halton Leisure Centre, Ditton Community Centre and the DCBL Stadium, with more locations to come. Just ask for “Tammy” at reception - no questions asked.

Crow Wood Gardens Update

Our Crow Wood Gardens development in partnership with Halton Borough Council is coming along great!

Our monthly drone photography really highlights how far the development has come. Comparing the May 2025 image (taken two months before work began) with the latest shot from January 2026 shows just how quickly the site is taking shape.

The ground floors of all apartments and bungalows are now in place, with individual room layouts clearly visible from above. Work on the second floor of the apartments is also well underway.

These milestones mean we’re on track for the apartments to become watertight by late April/early May, with the bungalows following shortly after.

It’s fantastic to see this much-needed housing development coming to life — and it won’t be long before future residents can call Crow Wood Gardens home.

Coming tomorrow to Kingsway & Stewards!

🚌We’ve partnered with VIBE to bring a fully equipped mobile youth bus into the heart of the community every week, starting tomorrow (Wed 4th March).

⏲️Running every Wednesday between 6pm and 8pm the VIBE youth bus will:

- Run pop‑up sessions in hotspot areas
- Offer a safe, informal space for young people
- Provide activities, mentoring and support
- Respond quickly to emerging issues

🚐 Big news for Kingsway & Stewards!

In our Destination Kingsway/Stewards survey last year, you told us young people need more support and safe spaces locally so we’re partnering with VIBE to bring a fully equipped mobile youth bus into the heart of the community every week!

The VIBE youth bus will:

- Offer a safe, informal space for young people
- Provide activities, mentoring and support
- Respond quickly to emerging issues

📅Weekly sessions run in the Kingsway/Stewards Ave area every Wednesday between 6pm and 8pm starting from next Wednesday 4th March so keep an eye out for the bus near you!

Meet Your New Customer Committee! 👋

We’re excited to introduce the six Halton Housing customers who will play a key role in shaping our future services.

After a fantastic response to our recruitment campaign, we’ve appointed a passionate and community minded group who will help make sure customer voices truly influence how we work.

This new Customer Committee is part of our Our Future Focus: 2025–28 plan and will give customers a stronger, more formal way to challenge us, share insight, and help improve the services you rely on.

We recently funded a four‑week beginner cookery course with Fresh Beginnings through our Destination Kingsway/Stewards programme - and what a brilliant few weeks it’s been!

Held at the DCBL Stadium, five local residents came together to learn how to make hearty, low‑cost meals perfect for busy family life. From spaghetti bolognese to homemade chicken soup, the group cooked up some fantastic dishes!

Everyone left with a £20 voucher, measuring spoons, digital scales, and a Fresh Beginnings cookbook to help keep the cooking going at home.

A big thank you to Barbara from Fresh Beginnings for running such welcoming and confidence‑boosting sessions. And well done to all our amazing participants! 👏
