Just to let you know about two events coming up in September if anybody would like to join in....

Big bike ride from Devon to Widnes and swimathon-swimming a mile in lots of different places in month of September.

Beercycle

Earlier this year we received the devastating news that my sister-in-law, Linsey had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. She is due to start a second course of chemotherapy in the next few weeks but we have also been exploring alternative privately funded treatment abroad to help prolong the time she has with her children Lily and Harvey.

Various fund raising events have taken place and in just over 10 weeks we have already reached half our £60,000 target.

Myself, family and friends will take part in a sponsored bike ride from my house in Beer, East Devon all the way up to Linsey’s home in Widnes covering over 240 miles.

We will set off from Beer on Friday 16th September and plan to arrive in Widnes on the afternoon of Sunday 18th with stopovers in Chepstow and Shrewsbury. If you would like to join us for any part or even all of the journey that would be amazing. If you need help with logistics of how to get to where we will be just let me know. Alternatively if you would like to sponsor me to complete this journey (remembering I am more of a runner than a cyclist), please do so via our GoFundme page.

So results day yesterday..mixed results

They do not know if chemo has done anything to primary in stomach as not a tumour so hard to measure.

Some of the cancer has shrunken though which is good. Lymph nodes on left omentum have shrunken and also the malignant fluid in my stomach has massively reduced too which is great. I also have a large tumour in my pelvis which has shrunken (never been told about this tumour ever so even though it is good news it has shrunken, I never knew it was there in the first place)

However, it has also spread to other places. There is more cancer shown on my spine and bones, cluster of lymph nodes in my chest in-between lungs (but not in lungs) and a large new mass on my right omentum.

Very mixed as chemo has helped what already have but hasn't stopped it from spreading to other places.

The consultant said as I have tolerated chemo so well and my bloods have been stable throughout they will offer me 9 more weeks of chemo. Not the usual response at this stage, but they said after finished this 9 weeks of chemo I would have no more so am grateful to be having 9 more weeks of chemo. It will be a more weakened down chemo and she has told me that there be no more offered after this as not usual to have more at this stage. She said after the 9 weeks would be the time to start looking at trails then.

I sent my results off to clinics last night. This gives more time to hopefully raise more funds for trail and also gives me a bit of breathing space too as I know plan for the next 9 weeks as was stressed I didn't have a plan....also it's only been ten weeks since been diagnosed and I feel like haven't stopped x

Thank you everyone as always for everything. We just had a lovely couple of days in Rome and off to Turkey in morning which is in place of our Florida holiday we had planned.

Still a bit of this needs collecting but the rocket family football team and families have raised an amazing £4188

Miss lily raised a huge £300 too from her sponsor roller skate

Another £400 was raised for sponsor walk from our friends Chris,Emily and Cherie and another 200 from Becki from doing football cards.

Amazing wade deacon raised another 630 by doing a raffle

Then an amazing £3100 from fundraising night on Friday

I can't keep saying thank you enough to everyone. once this has all been put on the fund we are well over the half way mark in just over ten weeks. That is amazing. Thank you so much for everyones help because there is just so many kind people who are doing so much and strangers I have never met either. ❤️❤️

This will be my last long post for a while (will still do little updates). I get my results on Thurs and then be sending away to the clinics my results and then need to wait a couple of weeks for thier oncologist to see if they can offer me something so in the meantime I am going to spend summer not thinking about it as best as I can and just make as many memories with the kids over summer as possible, starting with flying off to rome today x

Lots of more fundraising coming up. I am so grateful for everything but it has been very full on ten weeks. I can't even believe it has only been ten weeks since been diagnosed but yet seems ages ago. However I just need to chill and try forget about it for a while as best as can

First cat scan since end of April when first went to a and e...let's see if 8 weeks of chemo has slowed down anything!!!
