Human Trafficking Awareness Day 11th

National Human Trafficking Awareness Day is observed on January 11th to raise awareness about the ongoing issues of modern-day trafficking and slavery, which can occur right in front of us. Despite the common belief that slavery is a thing of the past, human trafficking continues to be a pressing issue.

NCNW Mental Health Advent Day 10 - Affirmation

Christmas is just a few days away! To keep the positive vibes flowing, we've compiled some of our favourite affirmations. Positive can help break negative thought patterns and rewire your brain to embrace a more optimistic outlook. By regularly repeating these self-affirming statements, you can boost your mental well-being, improve your sleep, and even enhance your academic performance.

NCNW Mental Health Advent. Day 9 – Children: My Safe Spaces

My Safe Place" is a mindful activity designed to help children reflect on and describe their safe and happy space using their senses. This grounding exercise helps children build mindfulness skills, promote relaxation, and cultivate a sense of comfort and security.

Disclaimer: This activity is intended for Parents, Guardians, Caregivers, or anyone responsible for children. While this time of year can be joyful and festive, it can also be difficult for some. The goal of this activity is to connect with children and help them identify the places where they feel the safest and most secure.

NCNW Offer counselling for children aged 4+. Should you feel like you need to speak to someone in regard to a child, you can call our Mental Health Team on 0151 245 3896 or Email mhsupport@ncnw.co.uk for support in making a referral.

NCNW Mental Health Advent - Day 3 – Gratitude Journal Checklist

NCNW Advent Day 3 - Today, we’re focusing on practicing gratitude, both for ourselves and those around us.

Gratitude is important because it boosts overall well-being, supporting mental, emotional, and physical health. It helps you gain deeper self-awareness and understand yourself better. Additionally, it fosters positive emotions and strengthens your connections with others.

Practicing gratitude can also improve sleep, reduce illness symptoms, and increase happiness.

DAY 2 – Circle of Control

NCNW Advent Day 2 - The circle of control helps us establish boundaries, adopt a proactive mindset, improve mental health, and develop flexibility, enabling us to navigate life’s challenges.
It also allows us to identify what we can control, act, and make positive changes in our lives, while boosting confidence, personal agency, focus, and productivity.
As Christmas approaches, it’s easy to lose track of our boundaries and feel overwhelmed. Understanding this mindset can help us better allocate our time and energy and recognize the things we tend to waste time worrying about.

This morning, NCNW held a Toast and Talk morning at our office. It was a nice little morning, to share breakfast with a few people and to talk about our and plans for the future.

This was held in light of to reduce isolation and get our community talking.

Moving forward, we are hoping this can be an event we can offer maybe once per month. Please keep a look out on our social media for any updates.
