Please be aware that the way MSK CATS (Musculoskeletal Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service) referrals are handled has changed.

🗓️ Since the end of March, our service now works through triage first – meaning we assess your referral before inviting you to book an appointment.

👉 What you need to know:
- Ignore MSK updates on the NHS App — these are not accurate for the service, and we are unable to change them.

- You will NOT receive a “Choose & Book” letter: please don’t worry if you don’t get one. They will contact you directly.

- After triage, you’ll be placed on a waiting list.

- Within 4 weeks, you will be sent a text message (don't forget to update your current mobile number) or a letter in the post asking you to contact them to book your appointment.

We've been made aware of a scam phone call involving someone pretending to be a medical professional from a GP practice. The caller claimed to be a “senior health advisor”, asked about medical conditions, and then tried to sell medication in exchange for bank details.

🚫 THIS IS A SCAM – no genuine NHS staff member will ever ask for payment or banking information over the phone.

📞 The scam number used was: 01900 516 559 – this has been linked to previous fraud attempts.

👉 What to do:

Never share personal or financial information over the phone.

If you're unsure about a call, hang up and contact us directly.

Report suspicious activity to Action Fraud: 0300 123 2040 or actionfraud.police.uk.

🟣 World IBD Day | 19 May 2025 🟣

Today we stand with over 500,000 people in the UK living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) - and the thousands more diagnosed each year.

🔍 What is IBD?
IBD is an umbrella term for two lifelong conditions: Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
These are serious autoimmune conditions where the body’s immune system attacks the gut, causing inflammation, pain, fatigue, diarrhoea, and other distressing symptoms.

There is no cure yet, and symptoms can come and go in unpredictable flare-ups, affecting every part of a person’s life - from work to relationships to mental wellbeing.

💜 This year's theme is Courage.

Because living with IBD means:
✔️ Managing symptoms others can’t see
✔️ Facing stigma and misunderstanding
✔️ Navigating treatments, surgery, or hospital stays
✔️ And still showing up - for family, for work, for life

Courage isn’t always loud. Sometimes, it’s just getting out of bed when your body hurts. Asking for help. Talking about symptoms that are hard to share.
