It’s ok to not feel ok.
It’s ok if you can’t ā€œjust get on with itā€.
It’s ok if you find the small stuff hard.
It’s ok to cry and be emotional.
It’s ok to ask for help.

It’s not silly, you are not too much and you are not a burden. Every thought, feeling and emotion that you experience is valid.

You deserve to be heard, listened to and understood. Your voice matters and you matter to me šŸ«¶šŸ¼šŸ’œ

Had a lovely weekend volunteering for in the therapy tents at Creamfields. It was definitely a different experience, and lots of festival goers benefitted from the chill out tent, beanbags and deck chairs that Blink provided. Always nice to have somewhere to unwind when feeling overwhelmed.

I met some wonderful people who I hope to cross paths with at future festivals.

Thanks for having me šŸ’œ

Today I attended the National Neurodiversity Show in Liverpool where I listened to several talks about different topics related to neurodiversity. I found it very interesting and informative and hope to apply what I have learned to my practice šŸ«¶šŸ¼

I have undergone specific training in order to be a fully informed neurodivergent-affirming practitioner, meaning that I acknowledge and support neurodivergent differences offering reasonable adjustments to all clients.

I strive to understand the unique experiences and work with the strengths and challenges associated with various neurotypes like autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. I focus on creating a supportive and affirming environment for individuals to thrive in their own unique way.

When you think of the word trauma, most people automatically think serious accident, sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence and yes all these are traumatic events, however, trauma is any distressing event that overwhelms a persons ability to process it emotionally.

Everyone processes experiences differently, so what may feel emotionally traumatic to one person, may not to another. What may feel emotionally traumatic to a child, may seem like a small inconvenience to an adult. Despite these differences, everyone’s experience is valid and true to them. There is no such thing as being ā€œtoo sensitiveā€ or ā€œoverreactingā€, you feel how you feel and that is ok!

Almost everyone will experience or witness some type of trauma in their lifetime. All types of trauma can have lasting effects and while many people will recover from such events, others may struggle for months or years.

Working with me, I will create a confidential and accepting environment, where you can safely explore and process your emotions and experiences, through learning to listen to yourself, becoming more self-accepting and finding new directions in life.

Distress related to identity can occur following a trauma or begin after a major life change, for example, starting high school and trying to figure out who you are and where you belong.

This can lead to a state of identity confusion where you persistently question who you are including your sexuality, gender, personality, life purpose, core beliefs. This can result in symptoms such as low-self esteem, feeling lost, emotionally scattered, anxiety and depression, feeling insecure.

When working with me, I will create a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences related to your identity, which can help you to delve deeper into understanding your values, beliefs, aspirations, and any challenges or conflicts you may be facing.

Being a parent myself, having to navigate divorce and raise my 2 children on my own, I am very aware that its not easy being a parent and it was always a worry if I was doing it right. Having gone on a journey of self-discovery and learned what it is a child needs to be secure in themselves, I now feel confident in my abilities as a mother and in fact, I now realise, we don’t need to be perfect, just good enough.

Maybe you are nervous about becoming a parent or you feel you have your own issues that are impacting your relationship with your child. Maybe your child has just been given an Autism and/or ADHD diagnosis and you are worried about the impact of this for them and your family. Maybe your child is experiencing mental health issues themselves and you feel overwhelmed or you just don’t seem to be able to connect with them.

Whatever is happening for you, we can work together to unpack this in a confidential and none judgemental space, where you will be heard and validated in your experience. Please feel free to contact me if any of this resonated with you today.

Depression is NOT a sign of weakness nor can you just ā€˜snap out of it’. It is a serious mood disorder that interferes with an individuals ability to function in everyday life.

1 out of 6 adults will suffer with depression at some point in their life. Anyone can become depressed, and it can happen to any type of person at any time. You may have constant low mood, feelings of hopelessness, feeling worthless, numb, loss of interest in your normal activities and spending lots of time in bed or you may also have symptoms of anxiety, feeling on edge, worrying, overthinking, panic attacks, palpitations and generally feel alone and isolated in your experience.

There is no single cause of depression and anxiety and these disorders can be brought on by a variety of reasons. For some people the cause can be an upsetting or stressful life event, such as a bereavement, a divorce, losing a job, an illness/injury or money worries.

No matter the cause, if you choose to work with me, I will focus on creating an atmosphere of acceptance and safety, where you will be heard and understood. I will sit with you and support you in your journey of self-discovery.

A lot of people are struggling to find and hold relationships these days. Times have changed with online dating becoming the main way to find love. But why does it seem to work for some, but not everyone? Why do some attract emotionally unavailable people? Why has dating become so difficult? Why do people stay in toxic relationships? Confidence and self-esteem play a vital role when it comes to love and our childhood relationships have a massive impact on our adult relationships. If you are struggling to find love or are having trouble with current relationships, there may be an underlying reason that is out of your awareness. Together, in a safe environment, we can explore in depth your values and beliefs and identify your real blocks to love ā¤ļø
