Do you get called ā€œclumsyā€, well it’s likely not your fault, you may just have poor proprioception šŸ«¶šŸ¼ the receptors in your muscles are not communicating effectively with your brain to tell it where you are situated in space and time. This creates the clumsiness, the lack of coordination, the inability to sit still.

Counselling is a journey of self-exploration in a safe, none judgemental space, where you are truly accepted as your real authentic self.

There is no other relationship like a therapeutic relationship. When you feel comfortable, what lies beneath in the unconscious, can come to the surface and be faced together šŸ¤—

Shutdowns in AuDHD are often misunderstood.
They are not laziness, weakness or a lack of trying. They are a neurological crash that happens when sensory overload, masking, emotional strain and dopamine depletion collide all at once.
For some people it looks like autistic burnout. For others it feels like ADHD fatigue. For many with AuDHD it is both at the same time. The mind wants rest while the body feels pressure to keep going, and communication can suddenly become difficult. This is not a failure. It is a sign that your brain and body need gentleness, predictability and reduced demands.
If this resonates with you or someone you support, you are not alone. Understanding your needs is the first step to creating environments where you can recover and thrive - ADHD memes II

It’s ok to not feel ok.
It’s ok if you can’t ā€œjust get on with itā€.
It’s ok if you find the small stuff hard.
It’s ok to cry and be emotional.
It’s ok to ask for help.

It’s not silly, you are not too much and you are not a burden. Every thought, feeling and emotion that you experience is valid.

You deserve to be heard, listened to and understood. Your voice matters and you matter to me šŸ«¶šŸ¼šŸ’œ

Had a lovely weekend volunteering for in the therapy tents at Creamfields. It was definitely a different experience, and lots of festival goers benefitted from the chill out tent, beanbags and deck chairs that Blink provided. Always nice to have somewhere to unwind when feeling overwhelmed.

I met some wonderful people who I hope to cross paths with at future festivals.

Thanks for having me šŸ’œ

Today I attended the National Neurodiversity Show in Liverpool where I listened to several talks about different topics related to neurodiversity. I found it very interesting and informative and hope to apply what I have learned to my practice šŸ«¶šŸ¼

I have undergone specific training in order to be a fully informed neurodivergent-affirming practitioner, meaning that I acknowledge and support neurodivergent differences offering reasonable adjustments to all clients.

I strive to understand the unique experiences and work with the strengths and challenges associated with various neurotypes like autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. I focus on creating a supportive and affirming environment for individuals to thrive in their own unique way.
