π Free Fungi ID cards tomorrow - subject to availability, so please arrive early to get yours! But here are some tips/ideas for what we can all do tomorrow on the Free Mindful Photography Walk - Hope to see you there π
Try these shots when taking pics of fungi:
Side angle or low front under the cap (gills!)
Group of mushrooms (wide shot)
Macro close-up (cap texture, droplets)
Keep background clean Frame with leaves, moss, or logs.
Use leading lines if you can
Light It Right Best: Natural light (cloudy = perfect) Fill shadows with a reflector or small LED Avoid harsh flash Use your hand or a white card to bounce light .
Clean the Scene gently. Do not pick or move the mushroom Never disturb the habitat Edit Thoughtfully In your editing app (Lightroom, Snapseed, etc.):
Boost texture & clarity Adjust contrast & brightness Crop for composition Add slight vignette to focus attention Apply noise reduction if ISO is high Extra Tips Learn basic mushroom speciesβit helps spot them Use ID apps like Seek or iNaturalist Never eat wild mushrooms unless certified safe Leave no trace.
...or if like me, just try not to capture your thumb in the shot, then anything is a bonus π
