I’m calcite obsessed and I know there’s more to this magic stone than meets the eye !! I saw a video last week about a pyramid in Egypt and the walls were made from calcite !
With the information Iv gathered below which suggests the calcite was in the limestone I saw a pyramid that had limestone slabs and then walls that were actually pure calcite !!
If you type calcite wall in pyramid in on ticktok you can view the video !!
How interesting and it makes you think what did they know what we didn’t ✨(I love stuff like this ) by the way -does anyone know a builder who can put me a few calcite walls in my house 🤣🤣
Did you know limestone is often made up of 90% or more of calcite (plus small amounts of other rocks and minerals)
When ancient Egyptians built the Pyramid of Khufu:
✨They used limestone blocks, which are made mainly of calcite.
✨The white, polished outer casing was high-purity calcite limestone (from Tura, Egypt)
✨The walls of the pyramids were built with local calcite-rich limestone and then covered with polished white Tura limestone (calcite).
✨This gave them their dazzling brilliance and deep spiritual symbolism.
✨Today, most casing stones have been stripped away, but the core calcite blocks remain.
From a modern metaphysical perspective, calcite is considered an energy amplifier and cleanser.
✨Many spiritualists believe the calcite content of the pyramid walls helped create a powerful energetic field.
✨Some researchers have even speculated that the pyramid shape plus the calcite stone may have created a kind of resonance effect, amplifying both sound and subtle energy.
While most of the Pyramid of Khufu (also known as the Great Pyramid of Giza) is built from Limestone, there are interior walls and sections made of nearly pure Calcite.
🏛️ The core blocks of the pyramid are made of local yellow limestone, while the outer casing (now mostly gone) was crafted from fine white Tura limestone, which is naturally high in calcite. Deeper inside, particularly around the King’s Chamber and several passageways, some walls are constructed with blocks of almost pure calcite. This material is fine-grained, smooth, and naturally reflective, giving the interior an almost glowing appearance when illuminated by oil lamps or sunlight.
🌿 In ancient Egyptian culture, calcite — often called “Egyptian alabaster” — symbolised purity, light, and eternity. Its presence in sacred spaces like pyramids wasn’t just for beauty; it carried deep spiritual meaning, reflecting their belief in the soul’s journey to the afterlife.
🪨 Geologically, the calcite used came from Egyptian quarries rich in massive crystalline deposits. Unlike the limestone core, this calcite was denser, more translucent, and could be polished to a smooth, marble-like finish.
☀️ The use of calcite elevated the pyramid’s interior, creating a bright and sacred atmosphere designed to honour both the pharaoh and the spiritual world. It was chosen not only for its visual brilliance but also for its energetic and symbolic significance to the ancient Egyptians.
