🚲 Volunteer Opportunity – Clifton Street Bike Library🚲

Calling all local residents! We’re looking for a volunteer to help open and run the Clifton Street Bike Library, an already established community resource.

📍 Family Hubs, Clifton Street
🗓 1st Thursday of every month
⏰ 2pm – 4pm

The long-term goal has always been for this to become a community-led Bike Library, helping local people access bikes and stay active. There will always be support from Be Well and the Communities Team to ensure the library continues to grow and be successful.

🧠 Stroke Awareness Event – 7th May🧠

There is a Stroke Awareness Event on 7th May, and it’s open to the public.

A range of local organisations will be attending to offer advice, support and information on health and wellbeing topics such as smoking cessation, physical activity and mental health. There will also be FREE health checks available on the day.

Ovarian cancer is the 6th most common cancer in women in the UK and 7,500 people are diagnosed every year.

Anyone of any age with ovaries can develop ovarian cancer although it is most common during and after the menopause

Ovarian cancer does have symptoms:

➡️feeling bloated
➡️tummy pain
➡️feeling full quickly
➡️weeing more often

Remember if you have these symptoms persistently your GP wants to hear from you.

She also organises all the collection for special events amongst the team i.e. birthdays, weddings, new baby.

Her recent promotion is a true reflection of her hard work, talent and dedication. She is the person we turn to with any I.T. problems – no problem is ever too much trouble, she is consistently helpful and generous with her time.

"I would like to nominate this individual as employee of the month as they have experienced some tough times over the past couple of months but is always available to offer her support and a listening ear. Even though times have been a struggle she never brings it into work and is always positive, reassuring and never fails to make people laugh.

She is amazing at her job and is compassionate, knowledgeable and empathetic towards her colleagues and clients. She spends time listening and is never judgmental and I feel I can always go to her for advice and support."
