Embrace Wigan and Leigh

Embrace Wigan and Leigh We are a user led organisation, over 75% of our management committee is made up of people and families of people with disabilities.

We offer support, advocacy, advice and information (among others) to make sure people live a life as inclusive and meaningful as possible. We believe everyone has a right to live the life they choose and not to become isolated just because they are different.

⭐Neurodiversity in Schools Project drop in ⭐
At Wigan Parent Carer Forum we have been been working with Embrace Wigan and Leigh and the Leigh Leopards/A Team Hub for the last few years on this project.

We have delivered staff training, parent groups, and have worked with children to support schools to become more inclusive for neurodivergent children.

❓Are you a parent at one of the schools that have been involved (listed below) we would love for you to join us to share what is working for your child or anything that you feel they still need.

Book here:

Throwback to our Christmas meet up of our Adult Neurodivergent Drop In Group.

“A support group where we offer support and understanding to each other at our monthly meetings. We start off by introducing ourselves and why we came along which tends to lead into other conversations.

We also try and run community social events in between meetings - last year we went camping, bowling and met up for walks when weather was nice”

Partners, Parents, Friends etc are all welcome too

*Edit *New timetable out very soon *

Did you know we run a Behaviour Support Service, pictured is Andy, the coordinator of this project. His role is to assess, allocate and provide training and outreach support for families who are experiencing difficulties through behaviour of children in their care.

Andy runs, various support groups which are all in person and run from Wigan and Hindley.

These are free informal sessions for parent/carers to explore and share different strategies, approaches, ideas and information as well as benefit from emotional support.
