Support for bereavement by su***de can be particularly complex, as it often involves a mix of emotions such as shock, guilt, anger, and confusion. It’s crucial to approach this sensitive topic with compassion and understanding, recognizing the unique challenges that accompany such a loss.

❤️ Acknowledge their feelings. Validate the wide range of emotions they might be experiencing, and assure them that it is normal to feel this way.

❤️ Create a safe space for conversations. Encourage open dialogue where they can express their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. Listening with empathy can be incredibly healing.

❤️ Provide information. Sometimes, understanding more about mental health and the factors that can lead to su***de can help in processing the loss. However, be mindful of their readiness to engage with this information.

❤️ Suggest professional support. Encouraging the bereaved to seek help from counselors or support groups that specialize in grief after su***de can provide them with the tools and support they need to navigate their emotions.

❤️ Offer continuous support. Grieving after su***de can be a long process, and ongoing support is essential. Check in regularly, offer companionship, and remind them of your availability.

Above all, remind them that they are not alone. With time, patience, and support, it is possible to find a way forward through the darkness.

Supporting a child through grief can feel overwhelming. Children often experience loss very differently to adults, their emotions may come and go, and they may not always have the words to explain how they feel.
What matters most is reassurance, honesty and presence.
🤍 Use simple, clear language.
🤍 Answer their questions gently and truthfully.
🤍 Let them express their feelings in their own way, through talking, drawing, play or quiet time.
🤍 Remind them that it is okay to feel sad, confused or even angry.
Above all, children need to know they are safe, loved and not alone.
There are also many incredible charities and specialist organisations that offer dedicated support to children and young people experiencing bereavement. Reaching out for additional help can make a real difference and ensure they receive the care they need.

Supporting a adult through grief can be a profoundly challenging experience, but it is also an opportunity to offer compassion, understanding, and support. Adults, like children, navigate the path of loss in unique ways. Their grief may manifest as a complex mix of emotions, including sadness, anger, confusion, or even relief, depending on their relationship to the loss.

🖤 Provide a listening ear. Sometimes, what they need most is someone willing to sit with them in silence or engage in open conversations without judgment.

🖤 Encourage them to share their memories and stories of the person they lost, if they feel comfortable doing so. This can be a meaningful way to honor their loved one and process their emotions.

🖤 Offer practical help. Grief can be exhausting and can make daily tasks feel overwhelming. Offering to assist with chores, errands, or meal preparation can provide much-needed relief.

🖤 Remind them that it is okay to seek professional help. Therapists or support groups can offer guidance and a safe space to explore their feelings.

Above all, let them know that they are not alone in their journey. Your presence and continued support can be a source of comfort and strength as they navigate their grief.

Set in several acres of beautifully maintained gardens, Howe Bridge Crematoriumoffers a peaceful and rural choice for the people of South Lancashire.
Set in a preserved area of countryside, the crematorium has a feeling of peace and tranquillity. This is reflected in the spacious chapel, constructed from natural brick and honey coloured timber, seating 84 with standing space for many more, and can cater for all faiths.
Fitted with a modern music and loop system there is also an organ for a more traditional style.

An integrated state of the art media system provides an almost infinite music library, with speakers located outside the chapel to allow larger parties to be catered for.

Wigan Crematorium, located at Lower Ince Cemetery on Cemetery Road, was opened in 1955 by Wigan Council.
It was established by converting an existing old chapel within the cemetery grounds. Prior to its opening, cremations for the area were required to travel to Liverpool or Manchester

This chapel has a traditional feel while providing services for all denominations, enhanced by a modern touch that includes music, slideshows, and live webcasting.
