Mother’s Day means more to me than just flowers, cards or photos. It’s about cherishing the time we have with the people we love, because life reminds us all too often that time is never guaranteed. It’s about making the most of the ordinary moments, the cuddles, the chaos, the laughter, the tiredness, and the little routines that somehow become the memories we hold onto most.
Lately, I’ve realised more than ever just how precious time really is. Sometimes I keep myself busy because it feels easier than sitting with what life is really showing me, but deep down I know how important it is to slow down, be present and truly cherish the moments that matter.
Being a mum to Dee is the greatest privilege of my life, and everything I do is for her. There are sacrifices people do not always see. The long days, the mental load, the guilt, the exhaustion, trying to build a business, provide a good life, and still show up as the best version of yourself, even when you are running on empty.
Instagram isn’t reality. Behind the photos there is often a lot more going on than people see. There is pressure, love, worry, and the constant effort to keep everything moving. I don’t always get it right, and I don’t always get time for myself, but everything I do comes from love.
I want Dorothy to grow up knowing the value of hard work. That nothing is handed to you, and that if you want something badly enough, you work for it. More than anything, I hope she feels how deeply she is loved through it all.
Today is for gratitude, reflection, and for all the mums doing their best in ways that often go unseen. It’s also a reminder to hold our loved ones a little closer and appreciate the small moments, because they really are the big ones.
And I know today can also be difficult for those missing their mums, for those grieving, and for those longing to become a mum themselves. Sending much love 💫
Happy Mother’s Day 💐
Feeling especially grateful for these two today.
