Women with disabilities struggle to access breast screening and cervical smears.

Often mammogram machines ( I don’t know their proper name) don’t go low enough if a woman can’t stand.

If a woman can transfer from a wheelchair to a plynth without a hoist she can’t have a smear.

We know screening saves lives, women with disabilities deserve equal access. Please sign this petition to improve funding so that women with disabilities can be supported to access services

We want the government to increase funding to ensure every facility is properly equipped to provide equal care. All women, regardless of disability, should be able to access cancer screenings without fear of exclusion, humiliation, or inadequate care.

I'm looking forward to being a panel member at the SIA Research and Innovation Event. I get a chance to talk about my research on Peer Support Groups after spinal cord injury.

It has been an honour to support the Greater Manchester Spinal Injury Group set up and develop into the community it is today. I get to hear heartwarming stories of triumph over adversity and see this amazing community support each other.

Sadly I also see the difficulties people face after injury and the issues injured people face going into hospital and not getting their needs met.

There is still time to sign up for this event.

Research and innovation event Wednesday 16 October 2024 2.30-5.30pm We’re delighted to announce our first research and innovation event. This...

Believe it or not, ‘psychologist “ on its own isn’t a protected title. Though psychologists are regulated it’s specific titles that are regulated. This is confusing for the public.

We need to take into account that su***de is the biggest cause of death of men under 45 and women under 35. It’s vital to have someone who is properly qualified I often get approached by people who have had only days of training offering to take my tricky clients off me, you need to know what you don’t know.

Please sign this petition to get psychologist protected

Anyone can use the title of 'psychologist'. We believe this undermines public trust and contributes to harm. Nine types of 'psychologist' role are protected (i.e. clinical, health), regulated by HCPC and adhere to strict standards. We want any use of the title 'psychologist' to be protected.

Please consider signing this petition. It amazed me that people with spinal cord injuries can go in hospital and they do not get their needs met because of lack of understanding about bowel care after spinal cord injury

We want the Government to ensure every NHS hospital has a bowel care policy and specialist bowel care. No one should be left unable to go to the toilet, potentially for days, because the hospital doesn’t have a bowel care policy or specialist staff.
