Today our team supported Children in Need, dressing up in their best Pudsey onesies 💛

Our team enjoyed spreading positivity to our clients whilst raising money for such a wonderful cause. Well done everyone, you all looked great 🐻

Members of our team attended the Remembrance Day Parade in Wigan yesterday.

Care Specialist, Stacey, supported client Sheila to attend the parade with her husband John, whilst Care Specialist Chloe stood proudly as her dad, John, walked in the parade.

We remember all those who sacrificed so much for our freedom and peace and are proud that members of our team could be there to show their support.

Today, we come together as a community to remember and honour the sacrifices made for our freedom and peace.

We honour the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and today we reflect on their courage, commitment and the legacy they left behind.

Last month was World Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, a global campaign dedicated to raising understanding, reducing stigma, and bringing people together in support of everyone affected by dementia. 🧠

It’s an important time to shine a light on how dementia impacts so many lives and encourage communities to take action, whether through fundraising, supporting research, or simply showing kindness and patience.

To mark the month, our brilliant team at Bridgewater Home Care Wigan took on their own challenge, walking 1 mile every single day in September to support Dementia UK. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Their commitment throughout the month was inspiring, showing not only their dedication to the cause but also their passion for helping those living with dementia in our communities.

We could not be more proud, well done everyone! 💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Macmillan Coffee Morning last week! 🫖🧁

We had a great time catching up with our team, and raised a wonderful £50 for Macmillan Cancer Support 💚 Well done everyone!

And a huge thank you to those who donated and brought in baked goodies to share with the team! How wonderful did our cake display look?!

Welcome, Autumn 🍁

Today marks the first day of autumn and the autumn equinox, when day and night are nearly equal in length. As the days grow shorter and cooler the season naturally shifts, inviting changes both outside and within our daily lives.

For many of our clients, this seasonal change can bring shifts in mood, energy levels, and health. Cooler weather and dimmer days may affect mobility, mood, and overall wellbeing.

At Bridgewater Home Care, we're here to support our clients through this time. Our dedicated Care Specialists provide extra companionship, help maintain daily routines, and assist with staying active indoors and outdoors, when safe. We also ensure homes are cosy and safe as the temperature drops. 🏠🌡️

Together, we can embrace the new season of autumn while prioritising comfort, care, and wellbeing for those we support.

Community visits 🤗

This week Maxine spent the morning meeting Pam and the volunteers from the Forget Me Not group in Haydock.

This group is based at St Marks church hall and it is for people who are living with Dementia, their families, and carers, both formal and informal. It was lovely to meet all the team and spend the morning getting to know them and what they do for their visitors.

They held bingo, quizzes and lots of different activities for visitors and their families to enjoy. We very much look forward to visiting again in the future, especially in the run up to Christmas. We will also be helping them with gifts for their Christmas raffle - we would welcome any donations!
