✨ Companion Café is back for the New Year – and we have some exciting news! ✨

We’re delighted to announce that Companion Café will be moving to a new location in 2026:

Berystede Court
Wellington Place
Standish
Wigan
WN6 0FG

To kick off the year, we’ll be hosting a special session on Wednesday 22nd January, where we’ll be joined by Pauline from Alzheimer’s UK. Pauline will be sharing valuable information, guidance, and support in a friendly and welcoming environment.

From February onwards, Companion Café will then resume on the first Thursday of every month, giving you a regular space to connect, learn, and enjoy good company over a cuppa ☕💜

Whether you’re looking for advice, reassurance, or simply a warm and social place to spend the afternoon, we’d love to see you there

Let’s thank some of our amazing WLH supporters 💜

⭐ We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone from Home Instead Wigan and Home Instead Leigh for their incredible donation of over 70 hampers for patients, volunteers and staff to enjoy over the festive period. This was a staggering show of support for the hospice and the hampers were enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone involved from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity.

⭐ Thank you to everyone from Taunton Avenue in Leigh for raising money for the hospice through their fantastic Santa parade over the festive period. Thank you so much for thinking of us – we are so grateful!

⭐ Thank you to everyone at The Royal Oak on Wigan Lane for raising money for the hospice through their Christmas Quiz. The event raised £700 for the hospice and we are so grateful that they thought of us. Thank you everyone – you’re amazing.

⭐ Thank you to Jonathan and his incredible team of runners for taking on their famous Christmas Eve marathon for a second year in a row. We have been blown away by their dedication and commitment to supporting their local hospice and their JustGiving page has raised more than £3,600 so far. Go team!

⭐ Thank you to Peter Quinn for continuing to fundraise for us through performing in supermarkets in Leigh over the Christmas period. We are so grateful for him and his volunteers and their willingness to give up their time to support the hospice. Well done to all!

⭐ And last but certainly not least, thank you to our friends at Fat Monkey Rugby Club for supporting the hospice as their charity of the year for 2025. Lindsey and Emily from our Fundraising team were thrilled to attend their awards evening over the festive period – where it was announced that the charity partnership has raised a total of £14,000 for the hospice. Thank you so much to everyone involved – we are so, so grateful.

As part of our Be A Santa campaign, the Home Instead Wigan team were proud to deliver over 70 festive hampers to Wigan & Leigh Hospice for patients and their families this Christmas.

We were also delighted to gift biscuit hampers to the incredible staff and volunteers, as a small thank you for the compassion and care they show every single day. The response was truly heart-warming, and it was wonderful to see how warmly everything was received.

With so many hampers to deliver, we even needed a van to help us spread the festive cheer! 🚐✨

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible — together, we’ve helped bring a little extra comfort and kindness this Christmas. 🎄💜
