When we lose someone we love and begin the difficult task of planning a funeral service, we want that ceremony to be as special and unique as they were. We want to picture them through the words spoken, feel them through the music which has been chosen and to be able to take comfort as we move forward knowing that the funeral gave that person’s life meaning and worth. I understand that you only get one chance to say goodbye and that you want to make this occasion perfect. Planning a funeral service is a daunting task, especially as it is usually done in a relatively short period of time and whilst each person involved is dealing with their own grief, but generally there is one thing that family & friends have in common - they all want a personal, fitting and unique service for their loved one and my aim is to help create this for you. As a former nurse and teacher, I have over 20 years experience of working with families during sad and difficult times and understand that families and friends will want to give their loved one the very best send off but are planning for this at the very worst of times, when grief and tiredness can often get in the way. One of the beautiful and unique benefits about choosing a celebrant to lead a funeral service is that they will spent as much time as needed with you prior to the service, usually within the comfort of your own home, building a relationship with your family, listening to your wishes, hearing your stories, your memories and the significance of your grief, to gain a true sense of the person who has died. I will work alongside you and with great care compose a truly uplifting service which is totally unique to any other. This service will reflect the true character & nature of the person who has died, sensitively respecting and acknowledging any challenges they may have faced along life’s pathway, but most importantly celebrating the life which has been lived. I will compose a meaningful and personal tribute to be read at the funeral and will provide you with a copy of it.
