Ad| Grant recipient - Poppy Appeal

Feeling worn out after a busy morning poppy making 😴 These are ready to go to their new homes 😊Read below so you can find out how to order and why we're fundraising for the Royal British Legion

--

Besides having me, my human's next favourite thing is crochet so she's selling crochet poppies this year to raise money for Royal British Legion Bert used to be in The Parachute Regiment 1Para and is now chairperson of the local RBL branch, so we always mark remembrance day anyway, but this year we've got an extra incentive to raise money. Earlier this year, my human was given funding from the RBL to buy a mobility scooter which means she can take me on longer and better walks, and has a bit more independence and freedom. Her making and selling poppies is our way of giving something back to a charity that helped us out.

Each poppy is made from acrylic yarn with a safety pin, and is reusable and plastic free. They're Β£3.75 each and can be posted (+Β£1.75) or collected in person. If you'd like to order, send me a DM or you can buy through her Etsy shop - link in bio of here:

We are looking to apply for funding to extend our Postural Stability Exercises to people living in Wigton, with a mix of 1 to 1 exercises at home and a new group in Wigton.
The exercises would be due to start sometime next year if our funding bid is successful.

Currently we run a group in Aspatria on Monday mornings.

Postural Stability Exercises are suitable for people with medical conditions and our instructor will have a level 4 qualification.

We need a title for the project and feedback that may help us with funding.

Can you help us? Can you spare five minutes to help shape the future of your waste services in Cumberland?

As you know, we brought three district councils together (Allerdale, Carlisle and Copeland), and we now need to ensure that waste is collected consistently, sustainably, effectively and efficiently.

We want to understand what you want and need, fulfil our council plan and comply with legislation too.

We have produced this survey for you: https://bit.ly/HaveYourSayCumberlandWaste which takes around five minutes to complete.

Or you can drop-in to one or our roadshows:
