ASH DIE -BACK

As you'll have seen in previous posts we have been called upon to remove several ash affected by this fungus, but as I drive to and from work I am noticing more and more Ash trees which have been affected. The prediction is that we will loose 80% of these beautiful trees in the UK. Below is a picture taken on my way home from work today on the road to Parsonby, where a1/4 mile avenue of Ash are now in serious decline.
If you have an infected tree I strongly suggest you get it dealt with sooner rather than later, before it becomes too brittle for a tree surgeon to climb.
Sad, very, very Sad, what a difference this will make to our landscape.

Just a bit of fun, but how amazing is this! One of our customers asked us to a leave a stump from a tree we took down for him with a slope on each side.....and here is what he has turned it into...really impressive!

A fantastic start to the year, followed by a few very busy months! We’ve all really enjoyed working for our existing customers and all the new “word of mouth” customers.

Another busy week working for both old and new customers. We've enjoyed removing some dangerous Ash around a pond, giving some much loved Apple trees some TLC, crown balancing some large mature farmland trees and helping to prepare a very old county house's gardens for restoration work. Great work, Great customers, Great team, Great locations.....Great week!!

2020 has been such a strange year for us all and has been difficult for small local business, but thanks to our loyal repeat business customers and the great new customers we have worked for this year we have survived and taken the opportunity to work on cost control and service delivery. We have taken on two new excellent, experienced climbers and with the great news today that a vaccine is on the way we look forward to a very busy 2021!

We have enjoyed a good busy few months since I last posted and are looking forward to carrying out some good work for several schools during the holiday period.
Also a family member has helped us redefine our business model, reducing our overheads and running costs, a saving which we are happy to be able to pass onto our customers in 2020 :)

We are now approved contractors for Genesis homes and the Diocese of Carlisle and are looking forward to providing them with an A1 Arboricultural service.

We've had a really busy but great July, working for great customers in some stunning locations! Fantastic to see both Michael & Kieran "learning the ropes" and starting to climb & carry out some of the aerial pruning works. We're all looking forward to an equally productive August :)

We have completed the felling operations on schedule and the footpaths are open, thank you all so much for your interest in the works and for respecting the closure. We will be back in the woodland on Monday (5th August) to carry out some small pruning works but will not close the footpaths,

Due to the adverse weather report, including thunder & lighting for tomorrow! We will be postponing the work at Skeetgill wood until later in the week when the weather improves,

We have been on emergency storm work since the early hours of this morning and will be until Monday. We have had to postpone the tree felling at Speetgill wood until Monday 28th.
The footpaths will be open for the remainder of this week with the exception of 12 O'clock till 3 O'clock on Friday 26th & 8am till 3pm on Saturday whilst the extraction team remove the timber we have generated this week.
