Our ‘patchwork artists’ and their families had a brilliant time at Adoption@Heart’s first school workshop in collaboration with Gatis Community Space.

Everyone got to talk about what family and home meant to them, as well as designing their own patch, which will form part of our digital patchwork quilt.

Here’s Ava-Mae’s brilliant drawing of her, her mum and her pet. She says: ‘Family means everything to me. I love my family.’

Thanks so much for all our fabulous patchwork artist contributions so far. We can’t wait to see them all as part of the final design.

Meet Alex Vann, Adoption@Heart’s digital patchwork quilt artist.

He’s a children’s book author and illustrator, a musician, provides arts workshops in the Black Country, has painted the Wolverhampton Mayor and has even created two huge wolf statues for a Wolverhampton Wolves art trail!

We’re delighted to be working with Alex on our family patchwork quilt project and can’t wait to see what he comes up with.

Adoption@Heart is creating a “Family Patchwork Quilt” in the Black Country with local artist Alex Vann, and we want as many young people as possible to design a patch and get involved.

We know family means different things to different people, and we want you to have your say.
