Today we had the pleasure of teaching the year 7 pupils at Our Lady & St Chad Catholic Academy on The Daniel Baird Foundation Bleed control kit and using a defibrillator. Well over 200 students confident with lifesaving skills. This complements all the other year groups trained previously. Amazing school ❤️

Survival rates for out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) in the UK remain low, with around 8% of patients surviving to 30 days after the event. This figure has seen little improvement in recent years, and the UK's survival rate is lower than in many other comparable countries.

Defibrillation is the only therapy to treat someone in cardiac arrest. Every minute that a person in Sudden Cardiac Arrest does not receive defibrillation, their chances of survival drop by 7-10%,
