Counselling, often referred to as therapy, falls under the umbrella of "talking therapies."
Who is a counsellor, and what is therapy?
A counsellor is a trained professional who provides a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Therapy is a collaborative process, designed to help you gain insight into your feelings, work through challenges, and develop strategies to enhance your mental and emotional wellbeing. Whether you're facing specific issues or simply seeking personal growth, therapy is a space dedicated to your self-discovery and healing.
Who is counselling for?
I believe it is for anyone who wishes to improve their life, is open to personal growth, and is ready to move forward. A common misconception is that one must have mental health issues or feel weak to seek counselling or therapy. This is simply not the case.
The truth is, we all experience moments in life where we feel loneliness, worry, anxiety, stress, sadness, depression, or encounter conflicts in our relationships. These feelings can persist far longer than they should if we don't seek support or take time to care for our wellbeing.
Counselling can help if:
-You wish to invite more joy into your life,
-You desire greater peace of mind,
-You are curious about understanding yourself on a deeper level,
-You want to enhance your self-awareness,
-You seek to improve your relationships with others,
-You aim to boost your mental and emotional wellbeing,
-You are setting personal goals and building resilience,
-Or, if you are simply looking to move forward with your life.
