The gardens are looking absolutely beautiful at this time of year, with blossom welcoming you as you pass through the gates — a true pleasure to see.
Today, a family thoughtfully selected a granite plaque for one of our benches by the fountain. We offer many memorial options, including our elegant heart memorial nearby, Barbican towers, and Panorama niches.
For those seeking something more personal, we also have a range of private gardens and rockery plots available.
It is always an honour to support families as they choose how they would like to remember their loved ones. If you are considering ashes being laid to rest or interment options at Haltemprice, please feel free to get in touch. There is no pressure — we are simply here to help and listen.

🌿 A Day of Progress and Connection 🌿
Yesterday, Pete and Scott have been hard at work preparing our new fountain area – an exciting work in progress. This space will be developed in a similar way to our existing fountain, which has become a much loved place for families to spend time together.
I’ve also been meeting families and chatting with visitors, making sure everything is just right in their garden areas. It’s always special to meet people you’ve supported through the memorial process.
Knowing that we’re helping families create lasting places to visit, reflect and remember makes this work truly meaningful. 💚

🌸 Easter Reflections & Spring Blossoms 🌸
All of our staff hope you have enjoyed a peaceful Easter. As spring begins to unfold, the blossoms on some of our more recently planted trees are starting to appear, and before long our driveway will be bursting into beautiful colour.
Today has been a busy one, with our team supporting families with services and memorial enquiries. This is always a particularly active time of year for memorials as the gardens come into bloom.

We were also pleased to welcome a gentleman visiting the area to see family, who took time to view the gardens and discuss options in line with his family’s wishes. He left with all the information he needed, and as always, it was a pleasure to assist.

🌿 Celebrant Spotlight: Meet Adrienne 🌿
Today we’re delighted to introduce Adrienne, one of the many fantastic celebrants who support families with services here at Haltemprice. Adrienne brings compassion, calm, and genuine care to every family she meets, helping them shape meaningful and personal ceremonies during some of life’s most challenging moments.
When asked what she’d like us to share, Adrienne said:
“I feel truly honoured to walk alongside families—listening to their stories, understanding their wishes, and helping them create a service that reflects love, warmth, and individuality.”
We’re grateful for the dedication and kindness Adrienne brings through our doors, and proud to work alongside her.

What is a funeral celebrant? This is a question I often get asked. The simple answer is someone who is qualified to conduct funerals or "Celebrations of life" services. Is this the same as a Humanist? A humanist provides a service as an alternative to a religious funeral service. As an independent celebrant, I am somewhere in between an ordained minister and a humanist, so that I can more easily personalise your loved ones service and can include religious content, or not, depending upon your individual beliefs.

🌿 A Warm Welcome to Sheenagh, a Funeral Celebrant 🌿
Today we were delighted to have Sheenagh, one of our wonderful funeral celebrants, in the gardens—and since I happened to be outside too, I took the opportunity to introduce her properly.
Going forward, I’d love to feature all celebrants who work with us. If you’d like to be introduced on our channels, please feel free to send over a photograph we can share. Alternatively, if you’re visiting, I may try to catch you while you’re here for a quick photo! It’s a great way for families to get to know who you are and the care you bring to your role.
Sheenagh has also kindly been in touch this morning to offer her support during our upcoming Open Day, and I’m truly grateful for her willingness to help.

🌿 A New Peaceful Space Is on the Way 🌿

Today we marked out the location for our new fountain area. It will sit further up the grounds, directly across from the magnificent oak tree — a truly beautiful feature in its own right. From the new fountain, visitors will also enjoy lovely views down towards our existing pond.

Seeing how many families are drawn to the current fountain area, we’re excited to create another tranquil space where people can pause, reflect, and experience the calmness of our grounds. We’ll keep you updated as the project progresses.

🌿 A Special Visitor in Our Gardens 🦅

We had a beautiful moment in the gardens today as our regular kestrel visitor stopped by to say hello. This stunning bird has been gracing our grounds daily, and we’re sure many of you will spot it during your visits. Its markings are truly something to admire.

Our gardens are full of life — from deer and squirrels to rabbits and many more wonderful creatures. It’s always a joy to see nature thriving here.

🌿 What a difference a year makes 🌿
Today we’re sharing some updated photos of the fountain area that was created last year — and what a transformation it has been.

Keith and Alan did a tremendous job bringing this space to life. From the early days of digging and shaping the gardens to the careful creation of the fountain feature itself, their hard work has truly paid off. The area has now matured beautifully, becoming a peaceful and uplifting place for families to spend time remembering their loved ones.

Pete has continued the work developing the gardens since starting here, lots of hard work continues.

We’re also excited to share that work will soon begin on our next fountain, positioned further up in the grounds. This new feature will create a fresh ambience and offer another special space for reflection and celebration of life.

We’re pleased to offer dedicated memorial appointments here at Haltemprice Crematorium. Our memorial consultant, Sara, and our business leader, Tom, are fully trained and ready to guide families through the many memorial options available. Other members of our team are also on hand to show you around, and we’re continuing to develop their knowledge so they can support families even more in the future.

If you’re able to visit in person, it’s truly the best way to explore everything we offer. With so many memorial choices, it can be difficult to capture them all on paper. Our gates are open all year round, and you’re always welcome to come and have a look before getting in touch.

Appointments usually take 30–45 minutes, and our staff will provide information with no pressure and no obligation. We’re here simply to help families create something meaningful and personal.

And as you can see from our photo, the beautiful blossom trees opposite the chapel are starting to come to life—it won’t be long before the driveway is in full bloom.
