This is a new project that we have embarked at one of our other care settings ๐ช๐ฉโ๐พ.
We are designing a sensory garden to meaningfully engage our residents. By inviting them to share their preferences for plants, flowers, and herbs, we will foster a sense of ownership and belonging, encouraging active participation in THEIR Home .
Our garden will stimulate the senses , promote physical activity, enhance mental well-being, and encourage social interaction. It provides a connection to nature ๐๐ฆ and offers educational opportunities.
For residents with dementia, the sensory garden is particularly beneficial in evoking memories and reducing anxiety through familiar scents and visuals. Tactile experiences and gardening activities enhance focus, provide purpose, and foster social connections.
Ultimately, weโre creating an environment that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit of all our residents, enhancing their quality of life โค๏ธ๐
At Walfinch and at all our care settings , we thrive to make a difference in the lives of our clients / residents . We are committed to developing ideas and initiatives that ensure our clients and residents can live their lives to the fullest.
