Are you suffering from an ACL Injury?

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗖𝗟?

ACL is one of the main ligaments that hold the femur (thigh bone) and the tibia (shin bone) together and consists of fibrous tissue located in the centre of the knee joint.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗖𝗟 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲?

If you require surgery an arthroscopy of the knee is performed (a key hole examination) to assess any damage to the other structures and the ACL.

Then treat any damage to the meniscus and then undertake the ACL reconstruction. Mr Aslam Mohammed will take part of the hamstring tendons through small incision at the front of the knee just below the knee joint. He will then make this into the new ligament graft that will replace the torn ACL.

Are you U18 and looking for a consultation in a Private Hospital? 🔍

As you may know patients under the age of 18 are typically not allowed to be seen in private hospitals as many hospitals across the North-West are not covered to see any U18’s by insurance.

We have now set up a clinic at private wing (JCW) in Wrightington hospital, as part of Mr Mohammed’s regular Monday morning clinics to see this age group.

Physiotherapist’s that are having problems getting patients of this age group in can now send patients to the JCW private wing at Wrightington Hospital.
