Orange Essential Oil
Sweet Orange Oil
This oil is unusual for a citrus oil as it has a medium intensity but its sweet fruity zesty aroma it warming as well as uplifting. It has no hazards so is generally a good all-rounder. Orange (Sweet) essential oil has sweet, fresh, fruity notes and radiant, sensuous undertones. It is a cheerful, soothing and refreshing oil that is good for lifting the spirits and helping with digestive problems.
It’s useful to burn for energising the mind, help anxiety, confusion (perfect for the menopausal amongst us)
Blends well with eucalyptus to clear the sinuses, help asthma.
On the skin because of its astringent action it is good for young oily skins.
Here I have two oils the DoTerra that Goddess life Alderley Edge gave me and one from Holland and Barratt which does the job The DoTerra oils are amazing and worth buying the blends for starters. My favourites are On Guard with orange bud, Cinnamon Bark and Rosemary.
My other favourite is Deep Blue with Wintergreen, Camphor, Peppermint, Ylang Ylang and Chamomile perfect for rejuvenating, comforting and cooling

So Here is No 1 Oil - Frankincense on the Yoga Mat !Frankincense was one of the three gifts to Jesus after his birth, and it is now a popular choice to fragrance the home at Christmas time (Marks and Spencer do a lovely candle). It is hardly surprising that it’s woody, spicy aroma reminds some people of churches, especially at Christmas, because the oil is used in many Christian churches for aiding meditation. Its note what we call base which means that the benefits last for longer in the body unlike the citrusy top notes that give you that instant hit. It also means the smell is a sweeter, spicier, warmer smell.
Frankincense, sometimes known as Olibanum, is a resin formed from the bark of the Boswellia species; it originates from Africa, Western India and Southern Arabia and was traditionally used as a medicine and in cosmetic preparations. Nowadays, Somalia and Ethiopia, where the Boswellia trees are found in abundance this is a relief as they were becoming in danger of extinction. The tree sap was literally crying.

Frankincense has many pharmacological properties including being anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory, The dried gum resin of Boswellia carterii has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to alleviate pain and inflammation for thousands of years – this means it is great for inflamed joints and arthritic conditions may help reduce symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Also known to be good for calming the digestive system for IBS.
Frankincense essential oil is considered to be non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitising. For those suffering from the painful symptoms of sinusitis, put a couple of drops onto a tissue and inhale or put a few drops into a candle burner or aromatherapy diffuser.
Reputed to be an excellent oil for stress-relief and for aiding relaxation, Frankincense may also be inhaled to induce feelings of calmness and wellbeing
While it blends well with many other aromatherapy essential oils, this week I am using one drop by itself in a large teaspoon of jojoba carrier oil. I tried it in grapeseed nowhere near as nice so worth using the jojoba it does feel nicer – here’s the photo below 3-4days in the morning on top of vit C Tetra Medi8- literally no filters- Need to sort that pigmentation out when I get back to work though

Every day this week I am going to post about an essential oil - having lost my sense of smell - my intention is to trigger it back to the former bloodhound capacity I had prior to Corona - my first oil is the gift from a King and a special favourite of mine Frankincense

So what has lockdown mean't to you?

Living in a tiny space with your family with restrictions for the first time in years - Good or bad- Both maybe

Have you seen around how beautiful the trees are -this photo was this week just incredible

Has anyone else notice the hayfever is not as bad probably because the pollution isn't as bad

What are peoples real thoughts ? Have we done more yoga? more walking or held hands a lot more ?Given the awful statistics for abuse I doubt - but it's interesting. Everyday this week I intend to discuss a different essential oil. This is because having taught Aromatherapy since 1990 I now cannot smell having been a bloodhound for years. My aim is to trigger my olfactory system and get the senses back on track whether this is because I have had corona or not. Join me with one of my favourites tomorrow - A gift from a King Frankincense x
