From September, the NHS will start sending negative cervical screening results directly to your NHS App 📲

Here’s how it will work:
- If your result is negative, you’ll get a message in your NHS App and a notification.
- If you don’t read the message within 72 hours, you’ll receive a letter in the post as a back-up.
- If your result is abnormal, you’ll still receive a letter by post.

Tip: Make sure your NHS App is downloaded and your notifications are turned on so you can see your results quickly and easily.

The NHS is moving towards one platform for records - the NHS App.
We encourage all patients to download the NHS App to view results, consultations and hospital letters online.
📲Please keep your notifications switched on or you may miss important updates, including appointment info.

📩 Using the NHS App will mean 50 million fewer letters sent each year.

Please find attached the final AAA screening uptake figures for 2024–25.
We're very proud to share that thanks to the efforts of the practice and our patients the East Cheshire Programme has achieved its highest-ever uptake, with Kenmore achieving a huge 90.10%🤩

For more AAA screening information please see below or click on the link:
https://www.nhs.uk/tests-and-treatments/abdominal-aortic-aneurysm-screening/

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening is offered to all men during the year they turn 65. The AAA screening checks if there is a bulge or swelling (an aneurysm) in the aorta, which is the main blood vessel that runs from your heart through your tummy (abdomen).
Aneurysms do not cause any signs or symptoms, so you would not know that you had one.
It is important to spot any bulge or swelling early to prevent rupture which is a medical emergency.

We have teamed up with the AAA Screening Programme to provide the screening for eligible patients.
AAA screening
• Is a simple ultrasound scan on the tummy.
• Free of charge.
• Painless.
• Takes only takes 10 minutes.
• Gives you the results there and then.
• Can save lives.

Please ring the NHS AAA Screening Programme on 0161 291 5716 to book your appointment.

Measles cases are rising in England.

• Measles spreads very easily among those who are unvaccinated, especially in nurseries and schools. It can be a very unpleasant illness and in some children can be serious and lead to hospitalisation and complications – and in rare cases tragically can cause death.
• In recent years, uptake of the routine childhood vaccinations, including the MMR vaccine has fallen. Uptake for the first dose of the MMR vaccine – which protects against measles, mumps and rubella – in children aged 2 years in England is 89% and uptake of 2 MMR doses in children aged 5 years is 85%. This is well below the 95% target set by the World Health Organization (WHO), which is necessary to achieve and maintain elimination.
• Vaccines are our best line of defence against diseases like measles and help stop outbreaks occurring in the community.
• We are calling on all parents and guardians to make sure their children are up to date with their 2 MMR doses. To see if your child is up to date with their MMR vaccines, check your child’s personal child health record (PCHR), known as the red book, or contact reception. People may also be able to check their vaccination status on the NHS App.
• It is never too late to catch up. The MMR vaccine is free on the NHS, whatever your age. If anyone has missed one or both doses of the MMR vaccine, please contact us to book an appointment.
