It’s the last day of 7 things you didn’t know about me. Saved the best til last.
Well you know I have children, but did you know that for a long time I didn’t want children, I’m not really into kids.
Then I decided that I did want kids, like a lot! And what you definitely don’t know is that when we started ‘trying’, nothing happened. Lots of tests later discovered that I had a high level of FSH, and so our chances of conceiving naturally were pretty low.
I remember sitting in the GP surgery hearing the words, “You can keep trying but you should accept this will probably never happen for you.”
The devastation was completely overwhelming.
After a lot of crying, I put my big girls pants on and researched how to conceive naturally even if you have high FSH.
Along with a very dramatic change in lifestyle and diet (I gave up wine!!) I had acupuncture and eventually I had a late period, took a test saw the little blue line. Matilda appeared about 8 months later, and Luke two years after her.
Every single day we are exceptionally grateful for their existence.
These two incredible humans are the absolute light of our lives. We idolise them, even when they’ve left the kitchen in a complete mess.
But with good reason.
They’re ace in every single way and being their mum is by far and away the best thing about my life. I look at them and think about how lucky I am every day.

So now you know 7 things about me. I’m a one-woman business with a passion to help you with your skin, a real person.
I’m a woman trying my best to keep my little business afloat it pretty sh*tty economic times.
But I’m determined to keep going.

Day 6; are you still there? Hope so.
Today I’d like to tell you about a beautiful, magical place, my favourite place to go to calm my mind and admire nature and wildlife. is an underrated destination; not many people visit it compared to other classic beauty spots but to me, it’s perfect.
I don’t whether maybe my ancestors lived there or something, but I feel so connected to it, just stepping foot into it has a magical effect on me.
Maybe I’m distantly related to Lindow man. The area where he was found it’s just to the left of my head on this picture.
To me it’s the best thing about living in Wilmslow.

Day 5 - poodles 🐩
I’ve been obsessed with poodles since I was about 5 and we got our standard poodle Sammy. He arrived as a small bundle of fluff and I adored him, but he kept growing and I wanted “a little poodle”.
I asked mum and dad every day for about 6 years if I could please have a little poodle. On my 11th birthday they caved and got my Bobby - a miniature poodle (medium-sized). He was my soul-dog until he died when I was in my early 20s.
I then had a few years of no poodles and they were dark years. Eventually I got myself Rosie & Rhubarb for my 30th birthday gift to myself, and they were my babies, infinitely more spoilt than my human children when they later came along. Losing them to old age is still incredibly painful, a grief you can only really understand if you have truly worshipped and adored your fur babies.
Right now I have these three idiots 😆 all pre-loved and a right handful. But I just love them, I feel naked without poodles in my life. I will always have poodles, they’re just my thing.

It’s day 4! Hope you’re not bored yet 😬
So what would I really love to do if I wasn’t making skincare products?
Well I love books, I love reading, I love wandering around bookshops.
I’d love to be a published author AND own a gorgeous little bookshop!
I read at least a book a week and I have a book journal where I write down what I’ve read.
We have books all over the house.
My degree was actually in Literature.
I’ve just finished reading The Miniaturist by Jesse Burton and my favourite author is 📚

Continuing my plan to let you know more about me - Day 3 🌿
You probably don’t know that I don’t do LJs every day of the week.
On Mondays you’ll find me volunteering at food bank. I love feeling I’m helping my community, and it’s a lovely bunch of people there.
And for 2 half days a week I work for my local eco charity 💚 who are just brilliant.
On earth 🌍 day, I thought I’d tag them and tell you the kinda things we do:
Plant trees 🌳 (the pic shows a gang of us planting a forest in the grounds of Wilmslow High School)
We run repair cafes 🔧
We plant and grow food across 3 community market gardens 🍅
We run workshops like the sustainable Christmas workshop and clothes swapping events, and IT recycling days
We encourage people to think about saving energy and are currently working on a huge community solar project ☀️
We campaign for less driving and more cycling 🚴
We try to encourage less plastic use and so much more.

I love working with them because not only are we doing great things that make a difference, but it’s so good for my mental health to get out there and be helpful.

7 things you didn’t know about me part 2.
I’m really not a people-person, I’m 100% a dog person. I’m far more likely to remember your dog’s name then yours 😬
However, there are some people I ALWAYS have time for …. my school-friends clique. I’ve known these girls since I was 11, and I love them. They’re the kinda friends you want in your life: funny, caring, sincere, totally themselves and always there if I need them. Life has huge ups and downs and having a few quality friends is worth a million fake friends.
I hope you have some friends like these 💕
