This leg day almost reduced me and .b_coaching_ _ to tears 😢

This summer I’m NOT doing a cut, I’ve been away and I don’t care about abs at this point, I’m just trying to get THICC😂

Only thing I hate about bulking is the progress pics get more and more difficult to take as your body fat will naturally increase and you’ll struggle to see the changes happening, you become more reliant on the numbers on the scale and in your lifts to know what’s going on!

Regardless though, long ass bulk ahead, calories and strength are on the up⬆️

Largely focusing on gaining size and strength this year after lockdown set me back a bit!

I’ll be doing a mini cut for around 4 weeks in prep for my holiday in May and then I’ll be straight back onto gaining when I’m back! Already seeing some good changes so I’m looking forward to what progress I can make further down the line

Dreading the Christmas season when you’re trying to hit your fitness goals? Don’t be!

It can be a daunting thought but it doesn’t have to be, if you’ve started but you’re worried about losing your routine, DON’T!
Enjoy your Xmas, smash some mince pies down you and don’t feel guilty for it! Just don’t go over crazy with it🐷 if you haven’t started yet I’d advise starting now, not in January!

January is the worst time to try and start in my opinion, the gyms will be hectic a few weeks in and it’s likely going to stall you a bit! Get in through December to get the ball rolling whilst it’s a bit quieter! If your gym shy this is also a perfect time to start🙌🏼

The gyms are only shut for a few days during Xmas so use those days to refuel and spend some quality time with loved ones, once the gyms are back open do what suits you best, your family may not fully support you going to the gym during this time of year but don’t let that stop you, if it’s important to you, do it - it’s only an hour out of your day!

Last but not least, learn to say no to things and not feel guilty for it! It can be a busy time of year with social events, drinking, meals out etc and this can be difficult to navigate for people new to losing weight, if you would feel happier not doing some of these things because of your goals, say no and just explain why - most will understand!🙂

MINDSET 🧠

It’s not something we’re born with or naturally have in place, I believe it’s something we create as we experience more and grow older.

The thing is you can listen to a video or a podcast about mindset 3 times a day but it doesn’t mean your going to suddenly spring into the type of mindset needed to achieve what you want, that has to come from you!

I didn’t always have the mindset I have today but exercising regularly is what helped change mine to how it is now, You realise the hard work you put in between the 4 walls of the gym can be applied anywhere else in your life… it’s just a case of actually doing it..

The results you get from months of hard graft in the gym can be reflected in your personal life if you apply that same level of effort that you put into your workouts

If you feel like you don’t have the right mindset to achieve what you want in the gym whether it’s fat-loss, building size, whatever.. start small and build it up, build your confidence by attending the gym regularly and tick each session off, learn as much as you can about exercise and nutrition and give it time, you WILL see the progress 🙌🏼

Struggling to gain muscle/size?

Here’s a little checklist you can use to make sure you’re ticking off the important stuff! 📝

Now obviously this is a little vague, but you get the gist of it! You need to be getting stronger and lifting heavier across important lifts

Incline press, shoulder press, squats, deadlifts, rows & dips are all example of moves that you want to get good at! These are compound moves that are great for building muscle

You then need to figure out what your calorie burn is like on a daily basis and make sure you’re eating over this amount consistently!

Gaining muscle isn’t easy but it’s definitely worth it! You’ll burn fat more efficiently, you’ll feel more confident and you’ll look great for it!💪🏼

Operation get massive is underway 🍕

This is when training starts to get a little more fun, but definitely a lot harder 😂

At this time of year I start pushing calories up to try and gain some strength and size!

I’m currently training 5-6 days a week depending on what time I have available and how I’m feeling that week! Usually Push/Pull/Legs x 2 or Push/Pull/Legs/Upper/Lower or maybe an arms day if I fancy it!

I’ve done this numerous times now, but it’s always something I look forward to, plus who doesn’t like a bit of extra food.. 👀

It’s Monday so here’s a motivational quote for you! (Read on⬇️)

Discipline and structure are key to moving forward in life,

We need to be disciplined in order to make progress, even if sometimes it’s a little boring sticking to a routine

The same can be said for your weight-loss journey, you must be somewhat disciplined with your choices. This might mean missing out on something that’s going to throw you off track for the next 3-4 days or saying no to a takeout..

BUT… by doing so you’re going to be one step closer to your goal, one step closer to feeling happier and more confident in yourself, so if you think of it like that it’s worth it right?

If you’re undisciplined you’re only going to end up going backwards, further away from your goal and spending more time wishing you’d done more.. don’t be that person!

It’s a fresh start to the week so let’s get on track with your goals! 📝

So you’ve been losing weight and everything’s gone well! But all of a sudden you’ve hit a plateau.. you have no idea what to do to get past it..

Here’s a few things to think about implementing:
* Get more active, longer walks to increase your steps, more intense sessions or maybe adding in an extra day if possible

* dropping your calories lower and being consistent with the change - if you’ve dropped a lot of weight there’s a chance you’re just going to have to dig a bit deeper to get more off!

* surprisingly - increasing your calories for a week or two, sometimes your body needs a break from dieting and this is the only option to getting your energy levels up and reducing fatigue. A lot of the time this is actually one of the better options but ONLY if you’ve been consistent with dieting

I’ve posted this before but I’m posting it again cos it’s a good’en😂rewarding your weight loss with s**t food is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard😂 it makes no sense to me that you would reward yourself with the very thing that’s causing the issue in the first place!

Your dog might get a treat when he gives you his paw but if your dogs also overweight surely you would stop doing this or do it less often? So why aren’t you applying it to yourself?

It can be hard dieting, I won’t lie to you. But that’s where discipline comes in, you have to resist the urge to nail a Chinese just because you’ve done well for 2 days, cos guess why? Your probably gonna do undo all the work you just did in those 2 days!

If you want to reward yourself that’s fine, but maybe replace it with something that won’t damage your chances of weight loss?

And if you still want to eat good food that’s possible, make a fakeaway recipe which will likely taste just as good without all the extra calories! If you’re part of my coaching you’ll get a bunch of these recipes included with your programmes!

ONLINE COACHING RESULT! 🏆

13kg lost⬇️ - This is probably one of my favourite online coaching results, not only because Annie did so well, but it was also my first ever Online coaching result!

This result just goes to show what happens when your consistent with eating good food and training hard!

Annie’s main goal was to drop body fat! she trained 4-5 days a week using programmes that I made for her on the online app, she did this whilst working a full time job with varied shift patterns so no excuse 🤪

She followed the workouts I set for her as well as working on her nutrition and following the calorie guidance I gave to guarantee weight/fat loss, I also checked-in every week to see how she was progressing and make any necessary adjustments!

Online is a great option if you’ve got a very busy schedule but you’d still like help from a trainer, there’s no need to book in sessions you just rock up to the gym with your phone and complete the workouts set for you 📲 it’s that easy!.. And it’s more budget friendly, win win🙌🏼

If your gonna fall for these stupid diets that are going round you’re not gonna be happy and you’re not gonna have long term results, you’re just gonna be stuck in the same cycle of doing things that don’t work but expecting a result and you’re gonna feel pretty s**t when it doesn’t work!

Dieting doesn’t have to be a massive headache; it just takes some careful planning and some hard work, the problem is most of you don’t want to do it so you just continue searching for that magic pill… 🐸☕️

“I don’t need to take rest days” 🐸☕️

If you were following my stories recently you’ll know that I took a few days off training due to illness, usually I’d think f*** it I don’t need a rest day ( not the advice I’d give my clients so I actually took my own advice for once 🤣)

Trust me when I say that you NEED rest days regardless of whether you’re ill or not! If you don’t your only gonna end up fatigued physically and or mentally and you’ll likely wake up feeling like you’ve been hit by a bus🚌

Make sure you’ve got some balance in your routine!

That being said I’m gonna switch off before a busy week ahead!
