At Support Carers we are here when you or your loved ones need us most, we are available 24 hours a day, and can provide care to suit your needs. Whether that be an hour a day to help get out of bed, or cook meals, help with medication or maybe going out once a week to a local group or activity. We can also provide respite care, any situation we can fit around you! Support Carers was founded by Dawn Geering, who is the director and a senior carer. Dawn believes that with her innovative 'Buddy System' clients and staff alike can feel reassured that they are receiving the best care available. The 'Buddy System' works by allocating two carers to each client, this enables the client to feel safe and secure, knowing who is going to be providing care and eventually building a relationship. This also allows the carers to work proactively - they gain the knowledge on their client and can detect a problem sooner than if many different carers are visiting that one client and don't personally know the client well.
