"It is very easy to get ChatGPT to emit a series of words such as “I am happy to see you.” There are many things we don’t understand about how large language models work, but one thing we can be sure of is that ChatGPT is not happy to see you. A dog can communicate that it is happy to see you, and so can a prelinguistic child, even though both lack the capability to use words. ChatGPT feels nothing and desires nothing.."

A (hopefully) uplifting post! 🔍😉 I've discovered the work of Dr. Jamil Zaki, (author of 'Hope for Cynics') and this great article, about the book, which I'm sharing. Zaki is a professor of psychology who researches cynicism. This is genuinely uplifting work, pertinent for our times, and a great read

I don’t have much faith in the future – but a psychology professor says cynicism doesn’t hold up to scrutiny

🌿 Individuals flourish when they feel truly seen, valued, and connected. At its core, this means recognizing each person’s uniqueness, emotions, and inherent worth. 🌿 Environments that are characterized by strong social bonds, empathy, validation, and psychological safety, lead to better mental and physical health, increased resilience, and overall well-being.
🌿 The other end of the spectrum is sometimes called ‘mechanistic dehumanization’ in social psychology, which refers to treating people in a ‘depersonalized’ way.

4 Reasons why hypnosis can be a useful tool in your toolbox if you are a creative thinker:

1) It guides the mind into a deeply relaxed and receptive ‘Theta’ brain wave state, (4-8 Hz). Theta waves are linked to intuition, daydreaming, and access to the subconscious mind—a state where creativity naturally thrives.

Many artists, musicians, and inventors report breakthroughs happening in the ‘twilight’ states between waking and sleepiness, which are theta brain wave states.

2) In hypnosis, the critical, analytical mind quiets down, allowing for more fluid, subconscious processing. This makes creativity, problem-solving, and intuition stronger.

3) Hypnosis enhances visualisation and Imagination, it activates vivid mental pictures. It also promotes neuroplasticity in some ways that are comparable to psychedelics.

4) it can be used to overcome creative anxiety, perfectionism, and fear of failure. Clinical hypnotherapy can lower self-criticism and allow creative thoughts to flow more freely.

“To devastate is easier and more spectacular than to create.”
― Anthony Burgess, A Clockwork Orange

This is an amazing series. Not just exploring cults, (or so called ‘schools’ in this case),
But oppression, and mind control in general.
One of the best things I’ve seen in a long time.
It explores the corruption of power, psychological control tactics, and child abuse.

The continuous use of the message of ‘you’re not good enough’, is mixed with imagery associating ‘approval, success, reward’ being achieved by following orders unquestioningly. It’s so disturbing.

It’s also surprisingly life-affirming, because it’s an amazing testament to the human spirit, and the ability to rise up and rebel against humiliation, manipulation and abuse.

Recommend. ❤️💪

Congratulations
