We are really looking forward to seeing you tomorrow evening, 16th July - 6.45PM at Wimbledon Library. It's our last meeting before a summer break so do join us!

This month we will chatting all about those first few days postpartum, what you can expect and some tips to make the transition as smooth as possible for you and your baby. Relevant to all kinds of births.

There will also be refreshments and a chance to chat to other families having a baby locally.

Come and join us! Meeting in Wimbledon library for May's Positive Birth Group.

We will chatting about the hormone oxytocin and why it is crucial for birth and postpartum.

Totally free, no need to book, and you are welcome to come with or without your partner (we get a mix usually).

If you are pregnant then please do join us this Wednesday 21st May at 6.45PM at Wimbledon library for your local Positive Birth Group.

We are going to be talking the all around hero, queen and boss of birth and postpartum ... the hormone oxytocin!

I can't emphasise enough how much of a friend oxytocin produced by your body is to you in labour.

Oxytocin is produced in the primitive, emotional part of our brain, and there are receptors there for it to attach to and affect us in all good ways. But when synthetic oxytocin is put into our blood it cannot get into the brain. This means you still really really want to be producing your own oxytocin even if you have a hormone drip in labour, or a caesarean birth.

Hopefully I have convinced you that natural oxytocin production in labour is VITAL. We will think about how to boost those natural oxytocin levels in the group on Wednesday.
