I’m a certified hypnotherapist and emotional health coach, and a regular wellbeing columnist for the New Stour & Avon magazine. I help use hypnotherapy, NLP, coaching and other techniques to help you overcome anxiety and fears, eliminate unwanted habits and discover the confidence and emotional freedom to live the life you really want.

I understand that change may feel daunting and impossible at first. You are not alone, as many others have felt that way, too. But the people I help have found that hypnotherapy provides them with an uplifting and life-changing experience that opens up new and immediate possibilities for them. Meet your therapist! 👋

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these posts but with lots of new clients starting it seems a timely opportunity.

I’m Susie, an experienced hypnotherapist and emotional wellbeing coach. I help people with anxiety or busy and overwhelmed minds to live happier, healthier and more peaceful lives. My special area of focus is anxiety and sleep, but my scope of practice extends to fears and phobias, unwanted habits, pain management, confidence and motivation - and much more besides! If your mind has come up with problem I can usually help you overcome it ⭐️

I work from a beautiful therapy room in Wimborne, close to Walford Mill, but see lots of my clients online, too. The choice is yours.

The best thing about my job is helping people understand that they have so much more control over their minds than they might think! Seeing my clients make changes that they never thought would be possible is what gets me out of bed every day - I love what I do with a passion, and I am confident you will, too!

In my spare time you’ll find me at the theatre, walking my dog, doing yoga, reading or being taxi driver for my two teens.

October is Menopause Awareness Month. Too often menopause gets brushed aside as something women should “just get on with.” But if you’ve ever found yourself wide awake and feeling anxious at 3am, battling hot flushes in the middle of a work meeting, or suddenly doubting yourself in ways you never used to - you’ll know it’s not always that simple.

Symptoms like hot flushes, night sweats, brain fog, mood swings and anxiety are common and can feel overwhelming and confusing. And because they’re so unpredictable, they can knock your confidence and leave you feeling unlike yourself.

HRT works for many women, but is not suitable for all. That’s where hypnotherapy can make such a difference. Many of my clients describe their hypnotherapy sessions as pressing the “reset” button: stepping out of the whirlwind and finding a calmer, more centred way to move through this chapter of their life.

Here’s a step-by-step technique in honour of World Mental Health Day that will help you transform uncomfortable or unwanted feelings. Whether you’re feeling anxious, fearful or stressed, low or sad, frustrated or angry, give this a go and notice how quickly things change. (It’s also great for surfing the urge of cravings!)

1. Become aware of the feeling in your body. Notice where it is and how it feels.

2. Change your posture. Open your body up - stand tall, imagine there’s a string pulling your head up, drop your shoulders and stretch out your arms (it sometimes feels good to swing them around you a bit!) Tilt your chin to the sky, look upwards and smile (especially if you don’t feel like smiling!)

3. Make your exhales longer than your inhales. This activates your parasympathetic nervous system and takes you out of ‘fight or flight’ mode. All the systems in your body begin to ‘power down’ so that you feel calmer.

4. Check in with your self-talk - whatever story you are telling yourself in your head. Make sure it’s something positive and supportive - “I am OK” … “This will pass” … “I am strong and capable “ etc.

4. Do this for approximately 90 seconds and then check back in with your body and notice what’s changed! (Because it will change - this is powerful stuff 😁)

5. Do a happy dance or punch the air! A physical celebration sends a clear signal to your unconscious that THIS was the change you wanted. The next time you do this exercise your brain will recognise what is happening and give the change even faster!

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health and deserves exactly the same amount of care and attention. If you had a pain in your body you'd probably book a check up with your doctor fairly quickly. But mental pain? Sadly, many of us carry our mental and emotional burdens very quietly. We tend to 'soldier on', hoping things will get better on their own. The truth is, they rarely do.

Hypnotherapy is a powerful but gentle way to support your mental health. Unlike approaches that focus heavily on past struggles, the modern hypnotherapy I offer at Sea Change is future-focused and empowering - building the tools and resilience you need to feel calmer and more in control.

Hello September! 🧡

There's something about the change of summer into autumn that I find really comforting and reassuring. We've enjoyed a beautiful, hot summer but now September is here and the leaves are beginning to fall, bringing a tantalising sense of transformation.🍁🍂

New seasons equal new hope - the chance to shed what's old and embrace what's yet to come. To look back and be thankful for good times or lessons learned and to look forward with optimism and hope.

For this reason, Autumn is a great time to get cosy, be reflective and set your intentions for the remainder of the year.

My Autumn intentions are to focus on:

🧡 Growing my business - making connections and helping more people
🧡 Looking after my body - nourishing foods and gentle, enjoyable exercise
🧡 Making time to do the things I love - theatre trips, dog walks, time with friends & family

Hello! Welcome to Sea Breeze Therapies. I’m a qualified clinical hypnotherapist and massage therapist based in Wimborne, and I specialise in helping people make lasting and positive changes to their lives.

You may be visiting my page because you are interested to know whether the therapies I offer can help you with your current life situation. You are possibly wondering if I have the right mix of life experience, relevant training and experience to help you change your life or achieve your goals. And if you are – you are asking all the right questions. I understand that it’s important to find a therapist who is the right match for YOU – somebody who ‘gets’ you and that you will feel comfortable working with.

My name is Susie and I live in Dorset with my husband, two young children and an energetic Irish Terrier named Rafferty. I worked in marketing and PR for more than 20 years, discovering a skill for building relationships and effective communication skills. I came to therapy work relatively late in life, becoming a qualified massage therapist when I was pregnant with my first son and built Sea Breeze Therapies up alongside my full time job .

Helping people has always come naturally to me, and I have a strong and sincere desire to help those around me lead happier, calmer, more fulfilled lives.
