This morning, I had the pleasure of working with a wonderful client, gently helping him begin to sow the seeds of joy back into his life 💗

Like many people, he sometimes finds himself slipping into low moods or feelings of hopelessness. But today, we did something beautifully simple and powerful. Together, we imagined the garden of his mind… and began planting seeds of joy within it 🤩

With each suggestion, those seeds started to grow - bursting into flower, blossoming and blooming all around him. And at the click of a finger, he could reconnect with that sense of lightness, warmth and possibility. Now, even in his darker moments, those seeds are still there for him… ready to grow and burst into life 🌹🌺🌷🌼

It felt especially fitting, as this weekend the lovely LeAnanda Yoga studio - where I’m based - is hosting a community plant sale 🪴

🗓 Saturday 2 May
🕚 11am–5pm

There’ll be coffee, cake, a raffle and an open house - a chance to explore the beautiful studio and therapy rooms, and discover the yoga classes and therapies on offer. All in support of local charities, with plant donations warmly welcomed.

Well - not necessarily! ✨

⭐️ Real Clients ... Real Change! ⭐️

Do you know what Dartitis is? Well, I have to admit, I needed to look it up when I received this enquiry! It turns out that dartitis is a phenomenon experienced by darts players, where they are struck by the inability to let go of the dart. This can become really distressing, especially for people like my client, who is an experienced, competitive player. Darts is a huge part of his life, and all he wanted was to get back to doing what he loved! 🎯

He explained to me that during a game his body would go rigid. His arm would feel heavy and either refuse to lift or just keep swinging as he tried make his throw - letting go of the dart was becoming a real problem. As a result, his confidence had completely plummeted and he was feeling pretty miserable when we first met.

From our first session it was clear he was going to make an excellent hypnotee, responding beautifully to the work we did together. After just one session he noticed the heaviness in his arm was gone - he was now able to lift his arm but still felt some resistance around letting go of the dart. When he came for his third session he had been out to play darts a few times and told me his team mates could not believe the difference in him! He had noticed the dartitis a couple of times, but it had only been momentary and he was quickly able to overcome it.

Hypnotherapy is fantastic tool for performance anxiety, stage fright or low confidence - it can be a real help to:

It's great to know my client is back to playing and enjoying darts again. I know he will now go from strength to strength now - it's once a client leaves the therapy room that the real magic begins to happen!❤️

As it's Neurodiversity Celebration Week I thought it was a good time to publish this little post on how I support people with ADHD. It's been sitting unpublished in my blog for a while, just waiting for the right moment!

I often get asked if hypnotherapy can help neurodivergent minds, and the answer is - yes! In particular, I often work with clients who have ADHD or are autistic, to support them with some of the more challenging aspects of their experience - or to supercharge their strengths!

I’m afraid I’m currently out of action with a really horrible cold/flu virus! I’ve been battling it for about a week now and my voice has really suffered, which makes running sessions out of the question. 😷

I hate having to cancel client sessions, but I also know that if I don’t take the time to rest and recover it will take me twice as long to get well.

I’m contacting clients to give 24 hours notice of whether I’m going to be well enough for sessions this week. If you are waiting for a response to an email or message this will be why you haven’t heard from me - I’m having to do a lot of rescheduling and this in itself is quite an effort for me currently 😩

Thank you for your understanding - hopefully I’ll be back and firing on all cylinders again soon! ❤️🙏

For the last few weeks I’ve been working with a brilliant group of hypnotherapists from the Jacquin Hypnosis Academy, sharing how I combine hypnotherapy with CBTi to combat my clients’ insomnia and sleep problems.

Today I learned something new and interesting - kiwi fruit can help your sleep! Kiwi is rich in serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps regulate your sleep-wake cycle and promotes relaxation. Serotonin is also a pre-cursor to melatonin - your body concerts it into the hormone which signals its time to sleep. Kiwi also contains antioxidants, folate and magnesium, which all have roles to play in sleep regulation.

I know what I’ll be adding to my shopping list this week! 🥝
