Tracy Cook Sports Therapy

Tracy Cook Sports Therapy Soft Tissue Therapy provides manual treatment of the soft tissues of the body that can help to reduce pain and regain or maintain good muscle function.

Soft tissue therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body i.e. muscles, connective tissue/fascia, tendons, ligaments and joints. Soft tissue therapy helps alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with not only sport related issues but also everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions imparting both physical and psychological improvements. I studied at Brighton University in Sports Science and Teaching and went onto run the physical education and sports department for 15 years assuring me an enormous amount of knowledge and experience across most sports, in particularly, my passion fell towards athletics, swimming, netball, hockey, as well as triathlon. I also took an interest in co-managing and coaching athletes as part of a sports development programme that ran 3 times a week; helping young athletes to understand the demands of their sport and what is required of them to be able to perform at an elite level. This aspect I particularly enjoyed as I felt I had much to offer with my own personal sporting achievements. All part of learning about your chosen sport, the training required and how it effects the body is key to meeting its demands injury free. To do this effectively means understanding about your body, how injuries come about and how to treat them so a person can return to full fitness. Now qualified in BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Sports and Soft Tissue Therapy at the prestigious London School of Massage (LSSM) I now have the skills and I am able to help treat all types of soft tissue injuries, whether it be caused as a direct result of a sporting incident or just general wear and tear of the body or occupational strains and stresses I am keen to help people in any way I can to improve their lifestyle through soft tissue therapy. I am a member of The Institute of Sport and Remedial Massage, hold a first aid certificate and am fully insured. Important information

🌟 Client Feedback 🌟 “Your praises were being sung all the way home! He loved your passion and really admired the thorough knowledge you have of your work”.

Today, I had the pleasure of working with a delightful young man during his first soft tissue therapy session. He has a physically demanding job, which often leaves him with achy and tender neck, shoulder, and back muscles.

I was delighted to see how engaged and eager he was to understand the underlying reasons behind his muscle discomfort and what steps he could take to minimise the impact of his job on his body. This is an area I am truly passionate about – exploring a client’s symptoms through interactive discussions, identifying the root cause, and providing targeted solutions (exercises) that can be seamlessly incorporated into their daily routine to alleviate their ongoing symptoms.
During the session, I shared detailed information with my client to help him grasp what was happening to his muscles, why it was occurring, and most importantly, what he could do to mitigate his symptoms. Soft tissue therapy, including sports massage, proved to be highly effective in reducing muscle tension, restoring elasticity, enhancing joint mobility, and alleviating pain.
However, it’s crucial to note that treatment outcomes can be further enhanced when clients actively address the underlying factors contributing to their condition. Without intervention (exercises) and making changes in movement patterns or habits that contribute to muscle strain, the full potential of the treatment may be limited.

I am dedicated to empowering my clients to take control of their well-being and helping them address the root causes of their discomfort. Together, we can ensure long-lasting relief beyond the treatment room.
