Ella’s care packages

Ella’s just finished making another 88 care packages.

During lockdown, Ella started making little care packages for children who, for whatever reason, might have been struggling or needing a bit of happiness.

She then completed a sponsored challenge to help raise money, so she could keep making packages beyond lockdown. To date she has made and given out over 250 packages.

If you know any children or teens who you think a care package/buddy box would bring a little happiness, please message us here and we can give you a box to pass on or deliver it anonymously. 💜💜💜

Earlier this year Ella received amazing news from the ‘Friends of Canford School’ that they wanted to fund match her online donations of £1500!!!!

She was asked to complete a ‘community funding application form’ and was also interviewed (via zoom) by the chair of governors; where she had to state her reasons for raising more money for her care packages and what else she would do with the funds. Pretty epic for a 12 year old!

Unfortunately though there was a glitch - as Ella is not a registered charity, they were unable to donate directly to her. However we were able to overcome this with Ella’s connection with Wimborne Food Bank.

We’re absolutely thrilled to say that the match funding donation of … £1500!!!! …has gone directly to Wimborne Food Bank and has funded all the summer activity packs going out.

Well done Ella, we’re so proud of you!

Our School Holiday hunger parcels have started & they will be given out to pupil premium families this summer along with an outdoor game & a Marcus Rashford’s No.1 Bestselling Children’s Book or an activity pack to every child! We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ella’s care packages Canford School & Gullivers Bookshop for their Amazing support with these summer school holiday initiatives.

We have donation boxes in Waitrose Wimborne, Furzehill Village Stores, outside Oakley Village Butchers in Merley, Coop Colehill, Coop Crown Mead & Coop Walford Mill & outside A. H. Griffin Funeralcare Broadstone or you can bring donations directly to us at Leigh Park Community Centre, Gordon Road on Friday’s between 12-2pm or during the sessions on Wednesday mornings 10-12 & Friday afternoons 2-4pm or you can donate online by bank transfer -

Can you help 🙏🏼💜 … Wimborne Food Bank would like to give a copy of this fab book to all older children/teens this summer.
How can you support 🤔 …. pop into Gullivers and purchase a raffle ticket 🎟- win win - you are entered into a fab draw with lots of great prizes and the money raised will go towards purchasing the books for the Food Bank.

The guys at Wimborne Food Bank are truly awe inspiring.

Due to Ella and her care packages we have had the privilege of getting to know Sharon, Rachel and the team.

We’ve learnt so much about the amazing work they do but most importantly that the food bank is so much more than just food parcels.

We might be a bit quieter on here nowadays but Ella’s still beavering away making her care packages. 22 boxes made this weekend that will be heading out to local children and also 16 going to St Mary’s First School in West Moors this week 📦💜
