The derby was a fun way to keep moving and being competitive with a treat to reward ourselves with a lovely fresh sweet treat.

The bunting is up, the flags are swinging with pride, and the kettle will be on constantly. Today we come together with our wonderful residents to honour the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of a generation who shaped the world we live in.

With tea flowing, cakes a plenty, and stories shared with warmth and gratitude, we celebrate not just history but the incredible people who lived it.

From all of us at Mile Oak, thank you to those who served, those who sacrificed, and those who continue to inspire us every single day. To those we are so lucky to have met who can share their experiences with us.

We have been getting really stuck into gardening now the weather is becoming warmer and brighter.

Its clear we have some very keen and very experienced gardeners who have made sure they tell us how to plant and what were doing wrong...

So were hoping for a blooming lovely summer and so far times shared in the garden have been glorious.

Our residents have been up to all sorts recently plenty of arts and crafts taking place as well as some very keen green fingered folk too. Our little greenhouse is coming along nicely and were looking forward to seeing what grows.

While activities have been plentiful and with Kate leading our activities. We believe activities are more than just a timetable. While wellbeing and lifestyle are buzz words within care we feel the time spent with our residents is already built around their wellbeing their lifestyles, strengths and skills as well as ensuring our residents feel they have purpose. And our focus is more around collective activities as well as solo, but also all of our team supporting our residents for meaningful moments.

We're excited of what's to come but we're also excited to share more with you all as time goes on.

Our residents have been eagerly waiting for better weather... we have a few sun worshippers at Mile Oak staff included. The chicks are outside enjoying the air, and the impact the sun has on our residents by being outside is so beneficial to health and how we feel. Here is to hoping we have a wonderful summer... time to dust off the BBQ!
