Today, for me, that basic need? It's sleep. I didn't sleep well at all, and as a result, it feels like the day has been attacking me from all sides 🙈

The fix? Sleep.

And it starts with the wind down ritual.

When my anxiety peaks, sleep is sometimes disturbed. Essential oils help massively. I learned this during the 2020 lockdown. Lavender, Ylang Ylang and Clary Sage are going in my diffuser tonight.

I've also lined up a sleep meditation on Spotify to help me relax and hopefully drift off.

When your basic needs are NOT met, EVERYTHING feels so much harder.

Just remember - your works might feel like it's falling apart, but there's every chance that things will feel better and more manageable after a posh biscuit and a decent sleep! 😴

💚Six of the best... and the best thing is that I can do all of them from the bath tub sometimes! 🛁

💚Last year I treated myself to a bamboo bath shelf, that fits across the top of my bath that I place my journal and tea cup on. Sometimes I watch an episode of something on Netflix to relax first. But the best bit is the peace and quiet.

💚If you don't have time for a bath, taking a cup of herbal tea upstairs to enjoy whilst you do your skincare routine can be both to feel like a wind-down ritual.
