Physiotherapy is used to treat conditions and injuries to the body through the use of a variety of techniques such as mobilisations, deep tissue massage, manipulation, exercise and electrotherapy. Being well established Chartered Physiotherapists over many years means we have subsequently developed excellent working relationships with personal trainers, GP’s and consultants. We specialise in Sports injuries and every day stresses and strains. We strongly believes in adopting a hands on manual approach to diagnosing and treating a vast range of muscular, joint and neurological problems. This means we don’t simply talk to you and advise you on exercises, but actively strive to identify the source of your problems and work together using manual techniques to resolve it. 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵: Skiing and snowboarding are all about leg strength.
𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁: Strong legs matter - but control comes from a number of areas; including your core, hips, and balance system.

Without stability through your trunk and hips, your legs work harder than they should, increasing fatigue and injury risk. Snow sports demand coordinated, full-body movement.

Training balance, rotational strength, and core control helps you stay centred, react faster, and ski with confidence. Snow-ready strength means preparing your whole body - not just your quads 💪

Cold weather can make back stiffness feel more intense!

Try a quick back-friendly morning routine:
1️ knee-to-chest stretches
2️ cat-cow movements
3️⃣ gentle trunk rotations.

These exercises support spinal mobility and help reduce tension from poor posture or chilly mornings. If back stiffness is a recurring issue, Hands on Physiotherapy offers personalised guidance to help you move with ease all season long.

Cold weather can make knee stiffness feel worse, especially first thing in the morning. Try warming up with seated leg extensions, heel slides, or slow marching in place.

These gentle movements boost circulation and help lubricate your knee joints without pressure. Many patients tell us these simple exercises make a huge difference in how they feel throughout the day.

If knee stiffness is slowing you down, Hands on Physiotherapy can help with personalised tips and support. Winter doesn’t have to hold you back 💪

✔ Indoor warm-ups before going outside
✔ Staying hydrated (even when you don’t feel thirsty)
✔ Light movement every 1–2 hours
