🤩 So much going on lately, there's something for everyone!

This weekend, we'll be at The Balsam Centre again, this time for the Volunteer Fair hosted by Blackmore Vale Rotary

Also on, is the Wincanton Poppy Appeal Coffee Morning at the Memorial Hall, so do stop by and support that!

🍎🍏 Over in Crewkerne, you'll find tractor rides and all kinds of fun at Parrett Brand, North Perrott Fruit Farm. 🚜They're kindly doing a collection for us so if you like apples, cider, or tractors, you're onto a winner!

☕️Next week, if you're at a loose end, why not pop down to Wincanton Community Hospital to join the The Friends of Wincanton Community Hospital for their coffee morning 😀

✨️ Bovington Camp ✨️

Continuing with our busy week of events, on Thursday, Tara and Shaun visited Bovington Camp to attend their health fair.

It was great to see so many organisations showing their support to serving personnel!

We had a brilliant time chatting with everyone from recruits in training, to those who'd spent their careers working up the ranks.

Talking openly and honestly about mental health experiences and su***de prevention is the first step towards changing attitudes.

We're passionate about prevention being better than cure. Equipping our soldiers, sailors, and airmen with healthy coping strategies and increased emotional vocabulary is key to ensuring they're far more able to cope when stressful situations do occur.

Our aim is to keep serving personnel in work and operationally capable, BEFORE they reach the point of being downgraded and medically discharged on the grounds of mental health.

🧠 Quiz Night 🧠

This week has been one of our busiest with something happening every day! 🤪

Weds was our monthly quiz night and with 18 in it was such a giggle! Our Serving/Baby Vets just nabbed 1st place, but it's always so close!

Our quiz isn't super serious!
You get bonus points for answers that insult another team, but only if you make the whole room laugh! 😆

💃🏼 Carnival🕺🏽

It's that time of year again!!!
Carnival has arrived 🥳

⚠️ Please note we'll be closing at the slightly earlier time of 1400 on Friday to prep for the parade.

We'll be reopening for late night browsing at 1730, serving hot drinks throughout the evening, and closing when the last of you have disappeared home 😀

This is the perfect chance to browse our Wincanton's Pre-loved Shop - Got Your Six UK and Wincanton's Bank Vault Bookshop if you're unable to reach us in normal opening hours.

We can't wait to see you and don't forget to give us a wave in the parade 😉

☕️ In the summer, we started counting how many brews we make in a week.☕️

🍂 Both August and September have been quiet, not just for us, but for other local businesses, too, due to holidays etc so we expect to see these numbers rise as we enter autumn and winter. 🍁

☕️ On Saturday (04/10) alone, we made 39 brews and we're pretty sure we missed a few!

In August we recorded 301, and September 347. That's a lot of brews for a community lounge!

Why❓️
We love to be able to evidence our work within the community and this is one simple way.

A not-for-profit organisation supporting our military community across Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire.
🐾 Our dog-friendly community hub is open to all to reduce isolation and aid integration between local military and civilian communites.
