It’s Nutrition and Hydration Week 2026
This week we are promoting the importance of nutrition and hydration, particularly in the hospital setting.

Today - Meat Free Monday - we have been sampling plant-based dishes on the menu. Patients and staff tasted, and then provided feedback on the food.

Today, on World Cancer Day, we added reminder ribbons to our tree in the dayroom.

We have all been affected by Cancer: loved ones, colleagues, friends and patients.

Today is a moment to remember everyone - the ribbon represents a universal commitment to cancer awareness, prevention, and support for patients and survivors.

1998 Catherine joined the team at Wincanton CH, she has seen both staff and patients come and go and has now officially retired. We are all so grateful for everything Catherine has done, anything you need to know about the hospital Catherine will know, she has been the first person people see as they walk in and her friendly professionalism creates a welcoming environment. During her time at WCH Catherine has gone above and beyond to support the hospital, spending alot of her own time helping The Friends with fetes and various events. Catherine has been a valued member of our team, reliable and dedicated she will be hugely missed by us all. There are some exceptionally large shoes to fill behind our reception desk 🙁 Thank you Catherine, we wish you a long and very happy retirement!

Pets As Therapy dog Bonnie, has been providing a sense of calm and comfort to patients and staff on Hadspen Ward today. We are so lucky she visits every week!
